I just saw a guy who had a truck very similar to mine, same model, 'bout 7 yrs old with custom wheels... sold it for $32k.

I'm just sayin'... I love my truck but if you want it and you're willing to pay 32-thousand dollars for it, we can talk.

I am selling my 2016 Sport Crew with 6'4" bed with 121k miles, very good condition. Autotrader says the truck is only worth $18,800. I listed it for $22k and it says it is high, while searching trucks on there and they are higher???

In truth I think most of these stories are either apocryphal or rare person-to-person sales. I don't know anybody making bundles selling their car on Autotrader.

Price received, ==== buyers willing to part with cash and Supply and Demand. My Dealership keeps trying to get me to sell them MY 19 with 20K on Odometer, lol and they build a truck for me or sell me a 22 on lot and I only need like 18K to make it, nah, MY 19 paid off, nothing like having the "pink slip".

Damn! Only 20K, I'm jealous!
No ****! Me, too!

I've put 122k miles on my 2015 and will have had her 5 years the end of this month.

Just passed 150k miles a couple weeks ago.

And then you'll need something else to drive...for the same or higher prices.

So what would you gain? Unless downsizing to a motorcycle.
You can make it work. If you order a new truck from Granger or Mark Dodge, who both sell for 4% under invoice, you can do pretty well on the turn around. I'm doing that right now. My new 2500 has been built and I'm $13K under MSRP. And I'm way over what I paid for my 18 2500 at the beginning of the Covid lockdowns. Looks like a win-win to me.

I'm worried that something bad is going to happen to my Power Wagon and it ends up totaled.
I doubt I'd get anywhere near what a new one would cost me from insurance and can't really wait the 6-8 months it would take to get a new one in any event...
And I hate the idea of paying new prices for a used one...

Where are those two Dealers again? I've seen Mark Dodge on here before.

I dunno, I've really liked my 2017 Ram 2500. The only thing I'd get besides newer is the 8 speed transmission. I only got 46k miles on mine now due to retirement and pandemic shutdowns. It used to be fun shopping every 5 years or so. Wish they had a smaller diesel in the heavy duty for an option. I hardly need 1,000 ft-lbs torque.

I lucked out and bought a new (to me) truck in Dec. '19 before Covid hit. Found a super clean 2016 Power Wagon with 24k miles for $34k, so basically a 3.5 year old truck with low miles. The trade in value of that truck today, almost 3 years later and double the miles, is $40k....again, that is trade-in value. Private party value is over $42k and a dealer would probably ask $45k.
It's not my daily driver and people ask me why I haven't sold it. But as stated above what do you do to replace it? It's the household's only 4wd vehicle for bad weather and only truck for hauling things in the bed or pulling a trailer.
