ok, so i found it in the manual 120k miles. Not sure If i should go that long. Yes Ram will stand behind it IF its under warranty. at 5yr old, its well out side the window. So IM guessing all these blown trannies are not from fluid issues? Just hard part failures.

If it makes you feel better change it now but based on my experience with Mopar ATF the past 20 years & talking to transmission people the tranny fluid can easily go 5 years or 60K before it needs changed unless its giving you problems, say NO to a machine flush this is based on info from those who work on transmissions for over 40 years, just drop the pan, change the filter and refill. BTW no way would I go a full 12 years or 120K before servicing my transmission, I do 5 year 60K service intervals on my transmissions... Your anti freeze has a 10 year 150K life so no need to change now unless its dirty or your having over heat problem.. I've had 5 year 100K HOAT anti freeze in a Cummins diesel still be good after 12 years & 100K.

@06 Dodge you and i are similar in PM thinking... RAM 1500 ZF trans had "lifetime" oil... yea right. are they expecting it to blow up at 100k? I know things have changed in manufacturing and machining, but 100k? nahhhhhhhhh I changed it at 60K just to be safe.

I don't get the Mopar life time ATF on the ZF trans being the manufacture I think its around 5-6 years or 70K, coming from class 8 trucking driving understand that PM work is what keep the truck up and running. I recall recently how a shop shocked when they told me I was crazy to want to change out (on a 2006 CTD) a working water pump, 2 rad hoses & T stat that has 15 years usage along with a distilled water flush, I guess my money was not green enough for them or some thing..

Mine started this issue at like 28K miles. Lost OD at about 42K and replaced with Randys Stage 2. If I could redo it I would have put in a new VB and high pressure pump 1st day of tuning. Live and learn, right?

Dang, now I don't feel as bad. I tuned it around 10k and lost OD at 80k.
