I'm surprised nobody has mentioned it, here, but I was slumming yesterday and saw walmart supertech has another option that is above their generic synthetic, I believe the main difference is the interval for which they demand 5 extra bucks. So this oil sells for more then most oils on the shelf such as PP by a couple bucks but of course carries the super tech name in the same bottle, they only difference they advertise 20k interval. Any dirt out there on this oil? any uoa/voa? they have this oil at 20k, their old synthetic at 10k, and their blend they promote a 5k interval. I guess this is supposed to compete with m1 annual? its a full 6 bucks more...

Saw that fram ultra xg2 on the shelf for 8 bucks, but I did resist it as I'm pretty content where I am at on filters.

If you want a Ram 1500 with the 3.0-liter EcoDiesel, you’ve got until January when they quit making them.

Yeah, no surprise what a ball of complication those eco diesels. When fca fixed the bearing issue by going to one grade higher oil the writing was on the wall. Despite promise and a huge market for these, manu's can't find a way to negotiate the mandates and they end up with a failing product line.

Would you tap dis? For me it is a no, too small, but I would surely take this over the comp we see here in usa. Maybe only Ford ranger even comes close? 31 mpg...

The new Ram 700 subcompact pickup will be offered in three trim levels which include SLT, Big Horn, and Laramie. Both the SLT and Big Horn models come with a 1.4-liter FIRE EVO inline-four-cylinder engine making 85 horsepower and 122 Nm (90 ft.-lb.) of torque.

Think about it - Cummins even DROPPED an SAE viscosity grade after years of insisting on 15W-40 as the only acceptable oil for their engines - now it's 10W-30 for the new hydraulic valve lifters.

Because a Cummins has sufficient bearing surface area for the design loading. What's that tell us about the Italian diesel engine maker VM Motori? It's a friggin' European diesel - not an American truck!!!

Fiat wrecked Chrysler, now Peugeot will double-down on it. There's nobody left with anything good.

Might as well just put a Briggs & Stratton in it.

Yeah no kidding, but I think that is actual mileage from what I read, and that it a corn hoopty, so I actually think that might mean it gets 35 mpg's if it was on usa gas. That is 31mpg brazil gas which is 85% corn.

VM is no Cummins, but then again neither is Cummins today, but that's another story. Actually VM has made some decent stuff. When looking at the Yuckodiesel you have to look at its original customer, and who set the parameters initially, Gimmick Motors. The same clowns who gave us the Oldsmobile converto-diesel grenade. The same clowns who conned Detroit diesel into putting their name on the decidedly non-Detroit 6.2 and 6.5 crank snappers. Notice a trend? They set impossible weight, cost, and "gas like driveability" targets, which leads to weak bottom ends. Shame on Chrysler for picking it up when GM abandoned the project, though. It was pretty predictable, much like the CP4 debacle.

This theme is the oil thread in a nutshell. Everything brings us back to the fact the people who make stuff and the govt that rules them have a vested interest to make vehicles that do not last and cannot be easily fixed, and they have gone even further and make those vehicles hard to maintain. The good news is most of us are on the back end of our lives, the kids of America are just fakld.

That's some funny stuff, but supertech, kirkland, havoline in the wine box, are actually pretty good choices as they have that dexos sign hanging on them. The only time I wouldnt use them is zero winter rated oils, I have no proof but I think you will get better quality from top tier companies in those grades. I practice what I preach, next oil change and likely future oil changes on my second vehicle which I want to last my lifetime is going over to kirkland and keeping the RP filter on that. Someone up on the knowledge, tell me how I'm wrong. Travis, what do you think? He is on bobs...

They don't care. A lot of them don't even bother with getting driver's licenses. Sit in mom's basement and try to out code and hack each other.
What a pathetic existence.

Dad had a 350 conversion diesel for work. They leased new every year, so they never had cranks break. Amazing 30 mpg in a big 'ol Pontiac Bonneville tankmobile.
