Sadly, they went to scrap while still in Menomonee Falls. You wouldn't believe the garbage they put out, and had the nerve to label it I/C(Industrial Commercial). Valve guides not finish reamed, valve seats popping, etc. We could sell a pump or generator with a Honda or Wisconsin-Robin to the same wrecking crew, on the same job site, with the same lack of maintenance, and be doing a shortblock on a Briggs, and a simple tune-up on the others. No exaggeration. They were so far behind they thought they were ahead.

Pretty sure Briggs knew about Honda arrival since they bought Daihatsu V Twins and relabeled them.
They knew very well, and still swore to dealers(pre-Vanguard)that the I/C engines could go to to toe with the Japanese. Not even remotely close. At the very beginning of the Vanguard program they were referred to internally as Nagano engines. I was also told at that juncture there was a Generac connection.

Redline born on dates 2006 5w20 and 2011 5w30 went in the truck on my latest change. I never even looked, in 2011 I bought that 5w20 and it was already 5 years old. Zero additive fallout. I put my finger through the little at the bottom, it was just oil and my finger swipe disappeared. How old is too old? Maybe I get a uoa in a year.

I wonder if a consumer and use those numbers to find out born date. The fact it isnt on bottle is troubling, a demerit against redline for sure until I solve this puzzle. Maybe dave can shed some light.

Polyol Ester holds additives in solution / suspension, PAO tends to drop them out, so makes sense that Red Line with higher POE base oil content sees minimal additive dropout.
Not surprised PUP drops out with time, likely Amsoil also. Just shake jug and use.

Who else does this, if you buy their brand from them used, they give you a 2 year unlimited miles warranty? List them, best used car warranties?
Approved Certified Pre-Owned warranties give factory warranties on used stuff. Isn't like a good thing considering the state we are in, plus the cost of new stuff, not to mention vehicles built yesterday are better then today year after year?
