2019 8' Box Tradesmen Quad with Cummins 6.7. uConnect installed.

Ok - been dealing with this for now about 10 days.
No speakers. All radio / Sirius XM / Phone / Bluetooth audio in/ seem to be working, but no matter what - no sound out of speakers.

So far, I've been watching the forums, and have tried:
  1. Removed the AMP Fuse - 71 and started / restarted / replaced
  2. Disconnected the negative battery cables from BOTH batteries for 10+ minutes
  3. Disconnected the negative and positive battery cables from both batteries for 10+ minutes - I think they were all disconnected.
Something is still saving my radio settings though because I didn't lose the last Sirius station or the last radio station.

I hate to take it in and have to have it serviced for something that seems like what should be a simple fix. The dual battery setup makes it a bit of a challenge to get all of the positive connections off given their sub-extensions from positive that hang off the side of the battery. I found it easier to take each one of those off than to disconnect at the pole. Maybe I didn't truly get everything disconnected?

Any more ideas?

I can't help, but hopefully it will be quick fix at the dealer. Maybe a setting or something on the radio.

Posted this on other threads on here as well. This happened to me a couple times. On the band select button on the back of the steering wheel - middle of the one on the right. If you don't have sound but everything looks like it is working, cycle through the bands with this button. The few times this happened since I found this, the speakers start working as I cycle to AM using this button. Hasn't failed me yet.

Unfortunately, no sound controls on the steering wheel with this trim level....

I've cycled through the "band" selector on the center console probably 100 times, but no go....

Fixed this. I had done all I could do. I even removed the front center console and disconnected each of the connections on the back of the radio unit. The problem turned out to be an "output module" Which was not functioning. Covered under warranty. It is mounted up behind where the front center console/Screen goes. But, dealer broke off a screw pulling it out and had to drill it out to re-mount it. So - be aware of that. Replaced the output module and re-updated the software on the radio/uconnect and that fixed it. - Thanks.

Best guess I have is that something in the software doesn't initialize right during in startup. Cycling through the band button forces a routine that resets whatever is wrong. There is a uconnect start up screen that comes up when the truck hasn't been run for a while. If you shut it off and immediately restart, this screen doesn't come up. I think it is in whatever software is running during this step that is the issue. If you have issue and restart, but don't get this screen, it still won't work. But it is just a guess.

New here, just bought 2022 1500 and no audio at all. Tried the switch to am trick, didn't work. Also had xm refresh the radio code, didn't work either. The battery disconnect worked, but when I drove 4 hours later, no sound... Wtf do I try next? Very frustrating, and I am concerned with stealership ripping everything apart and not fixing it, going by what I have been reading on web.

I wish I could help you. I have not found a definitive explanation of the root cause of what I have (very rare and has been months since it happened) to tell me where else to look. I have not gone to the point of disconnecting the battery or pulling fuses. Cycling the band or a long gap between key off and restart have restarted the speakers on mine, so I haven't looked for additional fixes. It may be you have a different issue as well. It may be a loose connection in your case.

Could be the output module that the OP described in post #5.

The dealership goes through the troubleshooting listed in the shop manual or published by FCA. If they don't know it right away they start down the list. It may not be the first thing they try but it is at no cost to you.

Whether an outside shop would do a "nicer" job or not they are using the same things to figure out the issue. Actually less since they don't have direct access to all the FCA documents or corporate engineering...and you're paying for it.

I've had mine in 9 or 10 times since I bought it and have not had any issues with quality of work or how my truck was treated.

Find a dealership you like/trust as you have 3 years (or 36K miles) of free repairs for your truck.

Okay so stealership called, truck is ready, they claimed that the pin connections were loose. They did multiple tests of starting and shutting off. They finished after hours yesterday so today I went to pick it up and still no audio after sitting outside in the cold.

I am waiting on a new amplifier, but I am concerned, it is been in the 50's during the day, and if it is a temperature related issue, I won't be able to replicate during business hours. That said I don't have a definitive date as to when the amp is coming in...

This is the same issue I posted in another thread. Still waiting on a “noise cancelation module”. Should be in next week. I’ll update my post if it fixes the problem.
