"If they are making fake gas engine sounds, maybe the honda 4 cylinder crowd with the 5 gallon muffler dragging on the ground will get into these."

Reminds me of those gadgets we put on our bicycles back in the '70s:

It was a black box and hand grip assembly that you could twist like a motorcycle throttle to make fake motorcycle sounds.

Or if you had to go really low budget you could mount playing cards so that they plucked your spokes.

No electric car for me though. I'll drive my gas and diesel trucks until they cut off the supply or I die, whichever comes first.
HEY, those playing cards were kool. Nope, no friggin electric BS for me. I want the electric to work for the house, and be available, not power somebody's car.

The Ford Lighting 1500 comes in at just under 3.5 tons (6590lbs) I am still trying to see the trade off. A whole new version of the "lead sled".
Yup, and you can go like 250 miles before a charge? (Do not turn on the AC either). No TY, not DIS Boird, go my 380 ish, gas up and go some more, easy peasy.

I could get behind a performance PHEV, but those numbers don't show me "performance". Give me something that competes favorably with an upper trim ICE offering from BMW or Porshe vs comparing unfavorably vs a Rav-4 before you slap "performance" on it.

I also strongly doubt this is the end of ICE Chargers/Challengers. This is carefully worded marketing to suck in buyers. The Hurricane isn't going to be limited to just Wagoneers. That could be a true performance PHEV, as a strong turbo 6 combined with big elecric motor assist and AWD would peel your toupee off.

Watch this real world : Ef150 vs GMC 1500 Denali, both towing 6500 lb identical trailers, side by side. Full 24 g. gas tank GMC vs Full EV charge Ford rated at 320 miles range ( Not while towing)
Spoiler alert.....range for ford...... only75 miles, while towing, had to turn around, would not make another 40 miles to next charger.
GMC still had 130 miles range,at that same point.
E f150( on another video) can climb the IKE, but not good on range while towing.
Cant tow a trailer to the typical "Lake" 150 miles each way, unless there a charger there. Especially out west. Might as well forget about side trips 4 wheeling while you are there.
Probably a great vehicle, for a contractor in and around a city.

Here's another real world family, F150 EV towing Air stream, on 500 mile trip Nebraska to Colorado. Epic fail. Kind of long, worth the education. EV towing is not ready for prime time.

If it were me, I’d sell that giant airstream and buy a small tent trailer/teardrop/a-liner ect. Something that fits the aerodynamic profile of the truck for minimum mileage loss. Kids get tents. The distance travelled to time idle for charging is ridiculous.

Brings back Dodge Charger in a 2 door, full electric motor lol. I love the design of the car and the electric performance of the cars are outstanding. I really hope they make some revisions to the "sound", as it doesn't sound close to what it should.

I think NASCAR is exploring EV race car series. Dodge is hoping to add fake noise to the Charger." it can hit up to 126dB, making it as loud as Dodge’s Hellcat models. " Read here: https://www.inputmag.com/tech/dodge-charger-ev-fake-engine-noises-daytona-srt-concept-electric-cars
I am an old school dude, need the smell and real actual noise, from an actual engine. What next fake squealing tires?

That's the rumors I've been hearing about with NASCAR looking to have some sort of EV series. As a fan of NASCAR, I think there's room for some sort of hybrid system, to keep with the times & OEMs wanting to push their EV advertising through the sport.. But I don't see how NASCAR could run a full season, at full race lengths, with just EV units. Not unless you're looking at X minute pitstops where the tires & battery get changed.. Sounds.. terrible.

The plus side to an EV series is I won't come home from the track feeling like crap from inhaling fumes for hours LOL

10 car fiery pile up in turn three might take a some time to to repair the track, those battery's burn hot. On the plus side an hour to charge the cars while they put out the fire.

They had an EV race at Road America (Elkhart Lake, WI) this summer. I watched some of it. It was just....bizarre, the whirring of the cars.

Yeah, lithium ion batteries are dangerous if not made properly and in crashes. Remember the phones catching fire in people's pockets? The 1st Boeing 777 airliner catching on fire? Chevy Bolt battery fires? GM has since quit buying cheap Korean batteries prone to manufacturing defects and sourcing it's own in the U.S. You can't cheap out on L-I battery manufacture and not have dangerous problems.

That is correct, I didn't even think about that.. When you see Teslas that caught fire, they burn to the ground with almost nothing left of the vehicle.. It's a good time to start charging the vehicles during the race though LOL
