I have a 2015 Ram 2500 with a 6.4 Hemi.
My engine light comes on, and yet I don't see anything that's obviously wrong with the motor. It's running fine and all guages are well within their normal range. Plus, I"m pulling a heavy 4 horse trailer in the Rocky Mts., so it's putting a good load on the truck.
When I disconnect the positive battery terminal and leave it off for awhile, the light goes off, but after awhile, it comes back on again. Doesn't matter if you shut the motor off and turn it back on, as the warning light stays on.
Any ideas of why this is, or how to fix it? It's a pain to find someone with an analyzer nearby.

You need to have the codes read. It's impossible to "guess" whats actually wrong as well as suggest a fix. But you could check the gas cap to see if its loose and causing an evap code. By disconnecting the battery, yes you are resetting the code but you are also erasing the emission test data.

I don't know where in the rockies you are but if you can find a chain auto parts store (Autozone, O'Reilly to name a few), they can read codes, almost always for free.
