This is regarding the center console controls integration into the PX6, and the row of switches for heated seats/steering wheel.
Original configuration had two rows of switches, along with the a/c and fan controls.
For the installation, a new bezel with the 10" screen replaced the original bezel. The screen size displaced both rows of switches and a/c and fan controls.
The upper row of switches simply relocated to a different location in the new bezel, and used the same wiring plug. It did not integrate into the PX6 unit. Same with a/c and fan control module. Physical relocation, same plug. There is no capability to control these with the PX6 software. Perfect, moving on.
Problem is with the lower row with heated seat and steering wheel switches. There is no place to physically relocate it to on the new bezel.
The PX6 head unit came with integrated controls to manage heated steering wheel and heated seat. It also came with a single wire plug to connect to the wire loom. A single wire connection makes absolutely no sense to me.
When I try to activate the heated steering wheel or heated seat via the touchscreen, the software cycles from "Off" to "On", and then turns off after about three seconds. I'm assuming because, with one wire, it can't complete the circuit.
Has anyone else encountered this type of install roadblock? If so, how did you resolve it?
