Got my truck back yesterday. Well,.........that was a slap in the face. I was thinking maybe 800 bucks or maybe 1,000 bucks TOPS!!! NOPE!!! Over 1,300 bucks!! I was pretty ******* pissed off about it. It's all parts cost that killed me.
So,..........

OEM battery
OEM front pads/OEM front rotors
Mobil 1 synthetic oil change
OEM oil filter change
Fix squeaking window on driver's side
Wow.

‘ I did that’ ……… JB.

Had a chance to swap out the passenger door panel.

The new Laramie has accent lights. I did grab all the connections, but will wire them up at a later time.

Didn’t dislike the diesel gray…… but definitely like the black better.

If I can, I’ll do the drivers side tomorrow :waytogo:

Part 2; Drivers side.

Not doing the leather dash until I have a few days free to take my time. While apart, I’d like to look into anything else worth while doing, upgrading or replacing while it’s all apart.

I‘ll post another thread for suggestion relating to that.

I have had good luck all of Detroit Axle parts.........good luck with the job
Thanks. I was happy when they arrived to find out they were the cast iron version, not the cast aluminum.

40 extra lbs of weight under the axle for climbing. Also, the added piece of mind when 4 wheeling in the Rockies or Sierra Nevadas, that if I do slide down a hill, a Boulder won't shatter an LCA. I know they are durable, but cast aluminum worries me when granite boulders are involved.

The install was delayed a few days. Had things happen on the weekend that pre-empted it.

Then had an appointments today for the dogs, so didn't start it yesterday. 2 great Danes in a challenger or old Dart won't work. But 2 in the Ram work out great.

Will start on it tomorrow after work.

My 30 foot mesquite came down Sunday night in 75 MPH winds from the hurricane from the pacific. She put in good work. I had awesome help from my neighbors at 10 pm on Sunday night. I pulled the stump the next day. Mesquites are some horrible trees to pull out. Giant roots, many small ones. Had 99% of the roots cut when I pulled it.

I added T-Rex style lights to my hood and an amber light behind the Ram emblem.
The hood lights installed quickly, I cut holes in the weather stripping that is between the hood and grill, fed the wires through the weather stripping and through the hood to the hood hinge and then back to the fuse box. The lights are held in place by the weather stripping and a little black silicone.

The emblem was a mess of trial and errors. I started with 1/4" plexiglass that I cut and routed to replace the original black background of the emblem. The plan was to replicate the OEM part and tint it so you wouldn't see the lights if they were off. However, I struggled getting it to fit how I wanted it to and changed my mind and decided to use some tinted corrugated plastic. I'm happy with the outcome, I do need to touch up a couple of small details with the overall seal of the light. I ran out of glue just before finishing so there a couple of spots that are thinner than I want.
I'm also planning on muting my chrome with some pray tint in the near future.

I put all new front brakes onto the truck, in my own stupidity I kept driving my truck even after hearing grinding coming from the brakes when I had parts ordered, ended up with new front calipers, rotors, and pads on the front from max brakes Canada, heed my stupidity and check your brakes and change them before they're screwed 20220918_090051.jpg20220918_114757_HDR.jpg20220918_084111_HDR.jpg
