Has anyone heard of a Hail Storm in Mexico around the end of June that may be the cause of thousands of trucks (not just Ram) held at the ship yard for damage inspections? I ordered my Ram 4/29/22. It was scheduled 5/23/22. went into production July 18 and built July 25th. Track shows shipping to be determined. If this rare hail storm was end of June and my truck was built end of July, im thinking the hold up are all the damaged vehicles are getting preference. Any info appreciated.
Thanx

I had two Chassis Cabs that were released on March 15th but did not arrive to our dealership until June and July. We were told it was due to lack of rail cars. Several of our 2500s were affected as well. Sat for about two months.

Oh I hope not!!! Mine was built June 14th & is supposedly waiting on a train to. I will be inspecting the crap out of it when it arrives. Thanks for the heads up! I will be steaming if I waited over 6 months for a truck that will have hail damage! :fca5278d::flame:

I looked it up & the only thing I could find about hail in June was Mexico City. There was so much it covered the ground like snow. Saltillo is north of Mexico City by several 100 miles so hopefully none of our trucks were damaged!

apparently your order of January 16th worries me. I didn't think this hold up went back that far. Ordered mine April 29th.
My new Ram was built July 25th and still no update on shipping. Ram care wont even reply to me any longer.

Gone are the good old days of seven weeks from ordering to delivery. I would hate to have to order a new truck today. Hang in there.

If BOIRD needed a new ride, I would just buy off lot. If what I wanted not there, have DEALER search and have transferred for purchase. I would not even get into the boondoggle of order, wait, pray, burn incense, etc.,. but that is me. THE way they R pushing stuff out,. I would be concerned ref trucks missing stuff/function due to chips and lack of QC. It is not just RAM tho, across the board, seems like QC no longer exists, IMHO... Seen some interesting pics of multiple thousands of Ford Trucks parked in various locations, I am sure all the other major brands have the same issue.

Long wait for sure. I ordered a truck at the end of March. Supposedly came off the production line the end of June and just arrived at the dealer Wednesday. I know things are taking much longer these days, but 3 months in transit seems nuts.

The only time that it has taken 7 weeks from Ordering to Delivery
would have been a Ram 1500 4 door, built in Michigan & going from the assembly plant to the dealership by semi truck

If any Ram 1500 is loaded on a freight train, it goes through a railway Hub near Chicago, so a week is used up

Before Covid, a order through Warren Michigan to San Diego/Los Angeles took 12 weeks
Those days are now gone, mostly due to the lack of semiconductors.
Possibly there is a shortage of Autorack Freight Cars

Mine took 6 weeks to reach rail yard in Spokane WA once the rail car crossed over into the USA, then it sat another 3 weeks in the rail yard waiting to get unloaded so it could travel to dealer. BTW back in Jan when I put deposit on my truck I was told they had a lead time that was a minimum of 6 months for parts ordered and by March lead time for parts increased, FCA had ran out of chrome running boards some time in Feb ( I was lucky that my salesman told me he had hid a set for me when I committed to buy in Jan) special order dept. didn't know mine were in hiding and were worried when time came to putting dealer installed on my truck, they could not find another set to put on my truck anywhere in the PNW an were worried, my sales guy & I had a nice laugh over it...

My truck was completed June 27th and I'm not and still absolutely no response from ram on when my truck is going to be delivered. By law they are required to report any damage in the vehicle over $500 of according to my dealer. I have not received any emails from ram since August 30th. I call every day and still no response from management.

I wish I could see myself driving a Ford or a Chevy but they were butt ugly.
How can ram stay in business if they cannot deliver the trucks
And you think these other ********* can? For had 100K Super Duty's parked at Kentucky Speedway for weeks because they couldn't get the Blue Oval emblems for the front of them...True story. It's a problem all over, not just for Ram. Toyota has it even worse, by their own admission....https://joinyaa.com/guides/toyota-production-problems/

Yeah it's all of the big 3 for sure! Chevy is spotty just like Ram as well. Some guys on my camping forum are getting their HD trucks in about 3-4 months while others have been waiting for over a year.

I think ram should offer 0% for 60 months for anybody that has waited over 6 months after ordering your vehicle.

Or if it set in Mexico for more than 60 days after that was built.

I asked the dealer if they would throw up in a set of mud flaps for the wait. Their response was no extra deals. Sounds like an easy tax write-off to me for Ram

No dealers are looking to give money off right now. I am just hoping mine doesn't try & pull some crap of charging what they are selling for now as compared to what they were in January when I ordered it. They have gone up nearly 10k since I purchased it!!! They "say" the price is locked in, but the interest rate is not. We'll see. The way the Fed's are going that will be up two points before I get my truck!
