I don’t think it’s high enough production volume to really change it. I wonder what isthe next gas motor in the 2500. I haven’t even heard of any rumors what’s next. Maybe they’ll run the 6.4 for a looooong time. Or maybe they’re just going to keep 6.4 and make leap to electric and diesel for HD
The H.O. version of the Hurricane would be my guess...

Meh. Its almost a **** (oh my gosh…i will spell it backward - drut) in my opinion. My half ton with the 5.7 almost feels twice as peppy as my power wagon. The 6.4 works for the power wagon, but man it could sure stand to have some more power in my opinion.
The only reason it doesn't feel quite as peppy as your 1500 is that it weighs an extra 2k lbs...
You'd need a lot of extra HP to make that seem insignificant...
But hook a trailer up to it and the 6.4 seems plenty to me.
The PWs started with the 5.7l until 2015 or so. The 6.4 is noticeably better in comparison.
It's no Hellcat but far from a t.u.r.d... I think they could net a few more HP with better tuning though...
But then mine has 4:10s and the 8spd so our experiences probably differ...

Yes. I think more-so than the weight difference is the fact that my half ton has the 8 speed and my power wagon has the god-awful 6 speed. That makes a huge difference when it comes to peppyness. The 6 speed gearing is just flat out terrible.

I don’t think the hurricane will make it to the 2500s. It would be cool but though. I think it’s going to be a premium type motor not a work motor

Has anyone seen confirmation that the sport hood will be on the PW, and if it will be standard or an option? The Build N Price isn't up yet on the website, but the dealers, Costo, Autobytel, etc have it and there's no mention of a sport hood. That makes me curious if people saw the hood being tested for the Rebel and just assumed it was the PW hood, or if it's going to be standard.

Also, the Rebel is getting the digital dash. Anyone confirm if the PW will get it?

Ram CS would only say they didn't have the info and didn't know when the info would be released, but it would be on the website the same time they would be told.

I got this update from Ram Customer Care:

Additionally, I show the 2023 Ram 2500 Power Wagon includes the Sport Performance Hood and 12-inch digital cluster are standard equipment (may be replaced by optional equipment).

I tried to order a 2023 today and could not. You can order a Rebel, but not a PW.

"2GP is no longer available to build. "

2GR is the Rebel, and you can build it. Why won't Ram take my money? Now it's back to buying used or ordering a Ford.:favorites68::favorites68::favorites68::mad:

Who were you trying to do your factory order from? Mark Dodge (LA) is still taking 2023 orders last I heard..

Edit: Is that your 2021 in your avatar? You want the new sport hood and digital cluster that bad to trade-up to a 2023? Wish I could afford to upgrade that often, more power to ya mate :D!

Anyone taking orders isn't putting them in the system. I confirmed with Ram customer service that ordering is closed. I also heard unofficially it's supposed to reopen Nov 10, but not firm. The red truck barely visible in the back is my 2012 Ram 1500 Express that I bought new in 2012. Well, actually it's my sons now. I only bought a new truck to give him my old one. I'm definitely not a "every 2 year upgrade" kind of guy. Maybe once a decade or so!

I just bought the 2021 this morning instead of waiting longer for a truck that may or may not come. Longer version of the story here: https://www.ramforum.com/threads/ne...ersary-see-post-31.193428/page-5#post-2720799

Did they lie about getting rid of the Eco-diesel for 2023 ?

the 5th Gen 1500s that are built at Sterling Heights Fleet order website, reads that November 1st, which is a Tuesday, will be the first day of 2023 production
I would guess that they will wait until November 7th, which is a Monday.

I have not read whether or not, they will be running 2 shifts or 3. Or how many days a week, i would guess 6 days a week, with rotating shifts

It will take 30 hours to build a single Ram
They likely will have a Ram come off the assembly line every 10 minutes
................................................................

remember, Xmas Holidays are coming up
that means they will close all plants on or about
December 16th or 23rd
Reopening on January 2nd
