I’m having problems with my 2007 not starting right. I can turn the key to the start position and sometimes everything works as it should, sometimes I have to turn the key and hold it for a split second before the starter will work. I do hear a clicking somewhere.
I thought I was having starter relay issues but I don’t know where one is. I saw a video on Utube showing it under the TIPM in front of the battery but I lifted it up and found no relay.
If it is the relay, where is it and also where is another one that I can swap it with to test to see if that is the problem!
This is a 2007 Ram 1500 with the 5.7.

Check your ignition key cylinder or ignition switch interrupter in column.

I’m not familiar with the ignition switch interrupter. What does it do and what should I be looking for with it?

Its on the left side of your column. When you turn your ignition cylinder, it tells the computer to start. Notice the burnt tabs in my pic.

Thanks. I will check it out, but it will probably be next weekend at the earliest.
The truck has been starting fine ever since Tuesday when I had the problem.

Okay I finally got a chance to look at the truck. I don’t see the part you are calling the interruptor in the truck or at parts store websites.
