Hello all,

I have a 2016 Ram 1500 Big horn. Last month i did a whole LED upgrade to the headlights, high beams, turn signals, and fog lights. Everything worked great and the turn signals are wired with resisters correctly (i had them checked first) until this past week. I keep getting “Parking Light Out” when ever i use either turn signal. Doesn’t matter if lights are on or off and the only thing i can think of is because they’re switch backs? Has anyone found a solution for this? No lights are out around the entire truck I’ve seen check the third brake light and it’s on. The odd thing is even though the “Parking light out” comes on, everything still works. The blinkers still work. Does the light going from white to blinking amber cause the error message? Any solutions? I’ve read a whole bunch of forums but never found a solutions. Any insight would help.

I’ve seen something about Alfa, and I’m researching it but a little confused. Have apple phone not android.

Thank you again,
Someone who’s tired of the damn ding on every turn,
Bill

Some trucks just will not accept certain leds in the turn signals .... on my truck I can't make it work especially if it's aftermarket headlights, "BUT" I do have LASFIT switchbacks on the turn signals and it doesn't spit out the "Parking Light Out" warning .... you might be one of the unlucky ones

In this case, find switchbacks where the white parking light does not turn off like the LASFIT for example.

On my 2018 BigHorn I have all LED lighting interior and exterior. I used AlfaOBD to turn off PWM and accept LED lighting. I still can’t use switchbacks as it throws the dash warning even though all the other LED lights work as intended. I’ve tried probably 20 different brands of switchbacks from Amazon. Just goes to confirm what CheechDogg said about some trucks being stubborn. I’d try a different brand of “parking lights” and see if that corrects the problem.

Please explain, what is "PWM"? I am trying to resolve a similar issue, but I am still running stock incandescent bulbs. Since upgrading to the 7" EVIC, I get a parking light out warning every time I use brakes or turn signals if the parking lights are on. I disabled rear DTC, but it didn't help (I don't really know what that is either, but thought I'd give it shot).

Pulse Width Modulation
It's a method of controlling DC voltage, the easy description is it turns the voltage On/Off rapidly to provide the correct voltage.

I tagged you in a thread talking about PWM ...
