holy crap, So just imagine an engine that has 14 cylinders, displacement of 1828.7 liters, and produces 108,920hp (80,800kW) It makes just 102rpm, but it’s the mammoth torque figure that’s most important – an insane 5,608,310 lb-ft (7,603,850Nm). how the heck does a motor that only turns 102rpm produce 5,608,310 ft Lbs of torque that blows my mind and i think we can put the ram in a cylinder bore LOl

Torque X RPM divided by 5252 = horsepower, could you imagine the horsepower it'd make if you spun it to 200 rpm,lol
I'd like to know how they came up with the torque figure,it'd have to be done mathematically,as i don't think there's a strain gauge built that'd hold it,to generate a torque figure

That's 1828.7 liters (483 gal) per cylinder. So it's actually a 25,061.8 liter engine. Let's just call it 33 cubic yards for ease of visualization. 38" bore and 8.2' stroke, so it's slightly undersquare. That makes max piston speed a whopping 29.9 mph. If I did this right, if you drop a nut when a piston hits TDC, it'll beat the piston to BDC.

I'd like to hear a single cylinder version run.

I had that pic as a screen saver at work, whenever the engine boys got uppity about how big their Cummins Industrial Diesels were.

Nothing quite like 100,000+ hp and direct-drive. Also, Bunker-C slop fuel they gotta heat just to flow it. It also burns its own crankcase oil - they never change the oil. Oil TBN new is 70, because Bunker-C is full of sulphur.

Need a gear-reduced CAT engine just to start the thing.
