I have a 2016 Tradesman/Express. It has manual windows and locks. I have searched for three days now and can’t find the answer I need. I’m sure I know the answer but I haven’t done a radio install since I was in high school 20 years ago. I’m wanting to put a Bluetooth/apple car play compatible head unit in and maybe a small sub and amp. Being that I don’t have steering wheel controls, back up cam, or any options really, I don’t need the Idatalink box….correct? Do I need the accessory USB port to connect to the aux input that is in my flip down console? If I don’t will my aux input in the console still charge my phone? And to keep my Sirius xm, do I have to mount another antenna or is it just a box/antenna that sticks behind the head unit itself? Thanks for any and all info.

Best advice is go to Crutchfield.com and put in your vehicle info. It will tell you everything you need specific to your truck.

you wont need the idata link unless you want to add swc and such. you will need to adapt the usb to your new unit. i think they make a cable that does that im not a 100% on it. or you could take the new units usb and run it into the console. xm is built into your radio but the antenna you can use the oem one. you will need the xm box that mounts to the aftermarket radio though.

I have been looking on there. That’s why I was a little confused about the datalink box. I figured I wouldn’t need it. They gave me two different options.

That’s what I figured but I wanted to make sure before I purchase the wrong head unit and accessory kit. There’s a big difference in price.
