I bought a 2022 Ram 1500 with 12" screen. Truck has 500 miles on it an no audio from the radio. It was working fine. Totally disgusted. Paid a lot for this truck.

anything mass produced has the potential to have a few item that will break, that's what the new car warranty is for.
if you get totally disgusted by a failed radio, I hate to see what happens is something like a transmission or engine pukes

The 12in has its quirks I would suggest hooking up to wifi and search for updates. Also try not connecting with Android auto and see if the issue keeps happening. It's a software issue it will be solved soon and your not the only one.

New vehicles aren't without their flaws. They have warranties for just this reason. With that said, the 12" screen in my 21 has been great but has had a couple glitches but all in all im quite pleased with it. I've been reading a lot about the 22 model year rams with 12" screens having problems. They changed to the unconnected 5 from version 4. The 5 apparently has been a nightmare for some but "updates" are supposedly the cure. Take it to the dealer and let them diagnose it

When I picked up my 2022 with the 12-inch screen, a few things didn't work. I read that a reset would fix all issues, so I did a reset and it fixed all issues and none of them returned. You can find the "how to reset" directions in your Uconnect manual.

I ordered a new 2022 Ram 1500 Limited 4x4 eTorque and picked up in December 2021. The 12” screen and radio had a few bugs. I received a letter from Ram that my vehicle needed a software update that required a service visit. Scheduled the visit and the update was done on several software. It took about an hour. Since the update the radio has worked flawlessly and the Apple Wireless CarPlay has always connected when my phone is in the truck(which before the update was spotty at best). So as others have said schedule a service visit and get the update.

I have a 2022 Ram 2500 power wagon with the 12" touch screen, with the U connect 5.
I had a situation where it froze completely and I couldn't even start the truck.
Took it to the dealer and the Tech said it needed an update, and that he had seen this before, Especially if you have traffic services in your Nav, so he did a couple of updates it's been working fine since.
As somebody else mentioned the U connect 5 Needs its updates in order to run smoothly.

I’m really sorry you have had the issue with your brand new truck. But with all the electronics on the new trucks it’s amazing to me that more crap doesn’t go wrong. In fact my fourth generation ram with less than 40,000 miles had a weeks cell in the battery. My dash look like a Christmas tree with all the lights and flashers and all the other stuff that happened. I thought my truck was getting ready to explode. But $250 later for an AGM battery solved all the issues because one one system goes bad it always affects several others.
My son-in-law has a 2016 ram, and it kept telling him that the shift mechanism needed servicing and he took it into the ram dealer and they couldn’t figure out what was wrong. He had just replaced the battery the year before with a cheap Walmart battery. Once again, there was a weak cell, and I told him to spend $250 and get a good AGM battery and the problems will probably go away. It worked perfectly and he’s got another 10,000 miles on the truck.

That would p*** anyone off w/ 500 miles on the ticker. Sorry to hear about that and hopefully it's something simple. I believe unfortunately this is going to be the norm as time goes on with these big screen info/entertainment screens integrated into the vehicle.

I have a 2014 Jeep with the uconnect screen and it has been flawless. When I order the ram next spring I'm getting the 8" screen as it seems to be based off what is in my Jeep.

My stereo system in my 2022 works, but has some wierd background noise, however it works. 10,000 miles in, My Aisen Transmission failed horribly. It took 2 months to turn it around. Not complaining, but they will not all be perfect. At least I got it back and feel I got the issues resolved.

Ram doesn't make the radio or software, they were just stupid enough to go with the radio manufacturer that they did.
Wishing they would offer the McIntosh Labs system (like in the Wagoneer) in the Ram trucks. :)

Bear in mind that most of the systems in vehicles are a form of SDR (Software Defined Radio)... oh, what hath FlexRadioSystems wrought? Most functions are added or modified via software; an update may resolve the problem(s).

They will have to redesign the dashboard, if they make the Infotainment System bigger.

I can picture it now, Plexiglas from the glove compartment all the way to the drivers front door
No Knobs, just press to touch.

Just like the ATM at my Credit Union
32" x 20" Touch Screen that you actually talk to

I had to wait for a update to come through. Dealer could not do anything untill the update. After that it’s fixed

The audio has been going out occasionally on almost all my Mopars since my 2008 Challenger and many pickups and cars since. When this happens the quick fix is to disconnect the battery for about 30 seconds then reconnect. Everything reboots and works fine afterwards.
