Just wanted to talk to the group about which ram truck I should be looking for. I currently have a ram classic but I'm going to be giving this truck to my son. He is going to work it off. I'm having a little trouble choosing the ram that I should get from my next ride. Here are my criteria. I Need a truck that's really good on the freeway as I am back-and-forth down the 401 very frequently. I also need a truck that has really comfortable seats for my back. I'm currently driving a classic and the seats aren't too bad but I do use a separate seat cushion. So I'm not sure if any of the other seats have some additional support and cushioning It might work for me. My 3rd criteria is that I really enjoy a good stereo but I'm willing to live with any of the stereos the ram offers As they all seem pretty good. I don't need a sunroof and I don't need the round boxes.. I do I do have to bomb across the field A few times a month but it's generally pretty easy going terrain. I don't do any off roading But I do tell the kids dirt bikes And I have a 27' trailer available that I could use for towing. I was looking at a rebel but I'm not sure about how well it does at 1:30 km per hour highway speeds . The seat seemed really comfortable but the dealer said that the Laramie seats and the limited seats are Slightly better. I did listen to the stereo and eliminated and I listened to the stereo and rebel and it was amazing. I'm not sure it's the same stereo that's in the Laramie though. I know there's a lot of stuff here and it's not well put together but I'm driving and thought I would see What the members had to offer. Thanks and thanks again.

It handles like any truck going down the freeway, nose heavy/rear light. You might get a little more tire wander from the taller sidewalls but if your looking for performance handling your going to need to spend a bunch of money on an aftermarket suspension and wheels for any truck.
Buy the truck you like with the capabilities you need.

I dont know. I thi k Ram sets them up a little differently from thr getgo. I see some 2022 Laramies with fairlly short sidewalls...truck looks like its more optimized for highway use. But I've also seen some Laramies with taller sidewall tires...perhaps theyre a little more general purpose oriented.
The big thing for me is the seat really. Something that is going to stay Rarely supportive over a couple 100000 km is the answer for me.

I have Rebel. I mostly off-road with it. Otherwise, mostly highway driving, toll road 407 north of Toronto.
If you really aren't going be off-roading at all. Laramie would be better pick. Just depends what you want to spend and the options.
Not sure what you meant with 1:30km part thought.
Did you mean 130 KM speed? I drive my Rebel at 120-170 km speed with zero issues.

Yes, it was a voice to text typo. I meant I'm usually driving about a 130 or a 135 km an hour on the 401 . How do you like your rebel seats? I think sea comfort is the big thing for me. I don't care if they're leather or cloth as long as they are comfortable.

The seats are great when driving for long time on highway. I have leather with red trim. I like that pedals are adjustable.
I often drive fast, highway is normally empty though. I did change tire/rims with 20inch rims. also have air suspension.

I was just going to ask you about the air suspension. Do you notice Difference from ram trucks without the air suspension? What's it really doing? Does it eliminate any body roll when you are on uneven surfaces or turning on to the driveway for example

I like the air suspension. I haven't had any issue with it yet. Not sure if they fixed or adjusted the issues from older models.
Only one winter, so time will tell.

When I first got the truck it was bouncy. From some advice from forums, lowered the psi a lot. It was really high from factory. As mentioned I changed tire/rims anyway.
I also added hellwig sway bar, which helped a lot. It's adjustable. I take it off when off-roading.

On highway, I have it in aero-mode always, lift it when off-road. Haven't broken the bags yet.
Drive the truck hard off-road, fast on highway. Only year old. Had few minor issues. few extra bolts under the sit. two of the back speakers weren't connected properly. light switch was bad.
Otherwise it's nice truck. Drives great.

Sounds like pretty minor stuff, really. How was the bounciness after you reduced the tire pressure? Still present? Probably why you went to 20's.

I think hellwig sway bar helped the most. psi next. the trifold cover added some weight in back, as well two swing cases.
Now it's way better then when I first got it.

If you are really focused on seating comfort, then the Limited or Limited Longhorn is the best seating available for RAMs, the Laramie trim and on-down does not offer these seats. The two higher trims offer seats with adjustable lumbar support that can be adjusted vertically to fit the area of your back that needs the most support.

For continued freeway driving, I suggest staying away from off-road packages, raised suspension, and oversize and aggressive tread tires.

It may be because your vehicle is a 2021MY. I understand from my dealer, RAM took away the multi-adjustable lumbar support in 2022 and reserved it for the two high trim levels. He blamed supply chain issues as the reason.

You are kind of correct. The higher ones have 4 way lumbar. Rebel's only have 2 way, as an option, even for 2022

the seats in my '19 laramie have all kinds of adjustment. at least plenty for me. I have made several long trips and been happy with the comfort level. last year I drove all the way from Sheridan Wy. to home near Ft. Worth..around 1200 miles in one stretch. kept thinking I would stopover somewhere but got in a groove and just kept going. being here in Texas, the cooled front seats are nice. mine came with the ORG and the upside of that is the shocks in that package seem to be good for towing. I tow a 28' travel trailer with mine. I changed out the sway bar to the Helwig one and added airbags in the rear which I run 25# or so when towing just to stiffen up the backend a little.

Dealer mentioned to me that the Laramie seats are as good as the Limited on terms of "comfort" but we didn't discuss adjustability. I would think vertical adjustability would be helpful.
None of the Laramies on my local lot have blind spot detection which is pretty helpful for the freeway. Surprised it isn't there as a standard feature. I even checked to see if it was part of an equipment group, but I don't think it is.
Dealer has a Limited with an "auto levelling suspension" listed in the specs, but it isn't showing the active four corner air suspension on the window sticker. Is this an error, or is there some other load levelling feature available when you are towing?

yes the blindspot detection is a great have if you tow. mine estimates the trailer length after the first turn and is usually right on. good to know when it is clear to change lanes when towing. it was part of the level 1 equipment package on mine...with rain sensitive wipers etc.

I bet. It seems a little crazy as to how much money you have to spend just to get some good general truck features these days. It's. I'm almost Is considering just getting another round classic And maybe getting some heavier Springs for towing

The Limited with the 22s and air suspension is a dream cruising around.

The air suspension makes a huge difference in ride quality
