Was unloading some tires and one bounced and hit my tailpipe pretty hard. I dont think it hit hard enough to bend anything but now I am noticing it looks like its lower. This might be in my head. Bottom of pipe tip is about 14" off ground. I know the previous gen the pipe was more horizontal to the ground where as the 5th gen points downward some.

Anyone care to measure or know?

I keep thinking ill see another 5th gen diesel in a parking lot somewhere so I can sneak a measure to compare haha.

Note: I do not have the rear air suspension. Not sure if that matters or not.

Thanks.

Can you send a pic? I find it hard to believe mine moved an inch. Of course the measurement may vary across trucks

Actually a little closer to 16”. Ruler may be on a small angle making it show a little longer. Hard to hold iPad and ruler at same time. Lol.98D07A7D-A56B-4DF7-9D80-07CBCCE7C515.jpeg

Nope, stock suspension. Replaced original 20” Firestones with 18” BFG TA’s. Same diameter and height. Empty bed. Maybe 25 lbs. tools in rear floor behind drivers seat, 1/2 tank fuel.

Attached are measurements of my truck and some other pics. I have the 285/60r/20 firestone TransForce at tires. I have a Laramie Night Edition. NO air suspension.

I find it hard to think my pipe is sitting over an inch lower. But this is why I was checking on here. Welds look good where the "holders" are. No kinks. Bend variation from truck to truck?

I'll also note I have a full tank and my truck has the 5th wheel and goose neck prep.

This might be in my head. Bottom of pipe tip is about 14" off ground.
Check the measurement from the body panel seam down to the tailpipe, that measurement shouldn't differ much between trucks. Measuring from the ground will change depending on tire size, load in the truck and spring sag.

If it bothers you get under there and loosen the clamp and rotate it up a little bit. There is some rotational play in it.
