Idler pulley? Belt noise

Have this noise going on with the belt, anyone else have something like this? Kind of sounds like a diesel for a bit

Sounds like the pulley to me but I would recomend going in with a stethescope to be sure.

So I’m ignorant - how do I use a stethoscope to dig deeper?

Bring it in to the different pulleys (idler, tensioner, waterpump etc) and see which the loudness/noise changes on.

Appreciate it! My frustration is that these noises come and go - and I may just wait till they get worse.
