The one I’m looking at is V6 with 3.21. Bad???Depends. I have an 18, with a v6 and 3.55 gears. Tow capacity is 7500ish. I have a 28’ camper I pull with it. Slow up mountains in PA, but it makes it. I’ve gone about 7 hours away to Finger Lakes through the Poconos. No overheating or any other issues.
Lifted with 35s I am still getting 19-20 mpg.
Definitely don’t get 3.21s with a V6 if you may tow. Or want tires any bigger than stock at all.
And don’t forget. The v6 now has more horsepower than some of the V8s for years ago.
Looks like the Hemi comes with 3.21 too. I may just put some all-terrains on it that’s it.I’d stay away from 3.21s unless you plan on leaving it completely stick and WILL NOT tow anything at all. Tow capacity with 3.21s is like 4K. Those gears are for gas mileage only.
I’d stay away from 3.21s regardless of what engine you pick.
If you get the 3.0 diesel V6 you won't miss the hemi when towing, and you'll get better fuel mileage than the gas V6.V8 etorque with LED package, sport appearance package and Level 2
V6 with night edition package and bed utility group and level 2
Top one is 4K more…thoughts???

Nah, still get the hemi in the durango!!V6? Buy a Durango.
I would fork out the additional 4k for the V8. No replacement for displacement.
Besides, every time you are at the lights and a V8 passes you by, you will hear it and sort of regret not getting it.
Sure the V6 will give you good mileage. There are mixed reviews on it. A friend of mine had a V6 charger and got horrible mileage compared to the other cars he had. That V6 was incredibly underpowered. He regretted on getting the V8.
When I got my truck, fortunately the V8 was the only option at the dealership. I'm pretty happy with it.
If fuel economy is important for you, then I would go for the diesel option. Good fuel economy and a decently amount of power for towing and other stuff.
Good looking rig!!
