The GEN 5 REpeaters are all over my town, i live in a valley completely surrounded by hills.

When you are listening to Sirius XM & get within about 1500 feet of a 5G Tower, then Sirius XM cuts out

Sirius sued T Mobile way back when the first 5G towers went up.
The case went to court & T Mobile won the case.

For the last 18 months, i only drive to the Hospital, Grocery Stores & Private Doctors.
So i don't need Sirius

I never made that connection before. But now that you mention it, there's a 5G repeater between my work and the airport. I was wondering why my satellite radio cuts out for about 1/4 mile of that drive. No trees or hills/mountains. Even happens on a cloudless day. Thanks for solving that mystery for me.

Do I spend an extra $2,900 and get the sport appearance package, LED package and upgraded Nav radio?? It bumps my payment $57 total. I’m a cheap guy by nature so I hate spending money. Thoughts? Thanks!
I agree. Nav no. After a year or two it becomes out of date. If you want to update it, it'll cost you about $150

Navigation is subscription based apparently. The first 3 months is free, but after that its like $150 a year.

Would installing these items yourself be an option? I got my 2018 Ram 1500 Eco Diesel 4x4 Big Horn Crew Cab brand new w/ 800 miles in like November of 2018 and came with the 8.4 Nav system non-alpine stereo system, dual lamp style halogen bulb headlights, pretty much bare minimum for a big horn over the past few years I’ve done quite a bit of upgrades by learning and doing myself. Some times it’s definitely taken 4 times as long as it should have and have had to end up walking to the auto parts store or hardware store to get something cause my truck is still on jack stands taken apart but I learned you can definitely do a lot of upgrades if your willing to take the time. I know yours is a newer year but w’ a little research and again patience I’m sure you can find ways to get around the newer years security if it’s changed from the 2018’s.
For 1500.00 you could get…..

1. LED headlights w’ DRL function $275.00 and I got the black housing when available. (OEDRO LED Headlights Assembly Compatible with 2009-2012 Dodge Ram 1500 2500 3500 Dual Lamp Headlamp Housing Chrome - Driver & Passenger https://a.co/d/hhDCSJH)

2. Interior LED lights, $13.00 and pretty easy to install. (SIR IUS LED N3 578 211-2 212-2 41MM 194 168 2825 Combo LED bulbs white Super Bright 300 Lumens 3030 Chipset for The U.S.A Car Truck Interiors Dome Map Door Courtesy License Plate Lights pack of 10 https://a.co/d/9hIBGGl)

3. Dimming Door Entry Courtesy Lights, $13.00 and just vampire tap into any wire that has dimming function.
(600 LEDs Light Strip Waterproof Cool White 7000K, SUPERNIGHT 16.4FT LED Rope Lighting Flexible Tape Decorate for Bedroom Boat Car TV backlighting Holidays Party (White) https://a.co/d/aDmcDnU)

4. Wheel well rock crawler lights, $17.00 a pop I got 3-4 sets cause I also installed footwell lighting in the rear cab.
(LED Rock Lights 4PODS Waterproof LED Neon Underglow Light for Car Truck ATV UTV SUV Offroad Boat Underbody Glow Trail Rig Lamp (White) https://a.co/d/bT9Gkrc)

5. PAC AMP-PRO AP4-CH41 (or similar for your year) harness to upgrade audio system with amp and subwoofer, $250-300 new I got mine on FB marketplace for $150.00. You may not need if you have upgraded 9 speaker alpine stereo system.

6. 800 Watt Amp to power sub and upgraded speakers, $102.00.

7. 8” subwoofer, $134.00. (Rockville USS8 8" 600w Slim... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XYYHP7M?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share)

8. Bilstein 5100 Leveling Struts, getting one of the upper control arm ball joints to drop was a pain in my ass but install was pretty straight forward other than that, $$245.00 total for both front struts. (Bilstein 24-187367 5100 Series Front Shock for Dodge Ram 1500 09,Silver https://a.co/d/dYgS3l5)

9. Upgraded Mevotech Control Arms, $140.00.
(Mevotech Supreme Control Arm & Ball Joint Assembly CMS251057 https://a.co/d/8DhHFZK)

6. 1.5” Rear coil spacers to level out the lift from the Bilsteins if you go to 2.8 setting, $35.00.
(ZY Wheel Rear Leveling Lift Kit Coil Spacers for 2009-2019 Dodge Ram 1500 (1.5'') https://a.co/d/gA2Akjq)

7. PowerStop z23 package w, new slotted brake rotors, brake calipers red, new ceramic brake pads. I got on FB marketplace for $150.00 brand new in packaging.

That’s under 1500 if you have the tools and patience of course. For 2900.00 hell can go ahead and add the 35” tires I got balanced and installed $1100.00 bucks FB marketplace. SFT stage stage 1&2 handheld tune for engine and transmission. I got for $900 last year and they got deals all the time can get for cheaper.

Looking around 3k for a totally different looking truck from what you bought and exactly how you want it and nothing voids the warranty. (besides the stage 2 tune since I had to remove the stock exhaust, still have till my powertrain warranty runs out)
Couple pictures below of this evening and one when I first got it.

My opinion is a little different. I have a Rebel, with the NAV. I live in Fort Myers. This past week we had hurricane Ian come through. Off road capability came in very handily after the storm. Same with the NAV. Cell service was out, map apps not working, was able to use the onboard NAV. These where both nice to have features that I was very happy I had this past week. If you can afford it and on the fence, better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it!

The LED lights for sure and sport, disregard the NAV, WAZE is better anyway. Check out the level 2 package for that vehicle it may have what you want for less.

Are you talking about the 12" radio? While I love mine, something to note is that RAM was #1 in quality not too long ago. Lost the #1 spot mainly due to that 12" radio being a pain for many people. I think RAM messed up on the 12" version by not making it Android based like all other radios they have. It can be quirky to say the least.

I used that phone app for a while, then they wanted yearly money for it. The regular key remote I find is quite good at distances. Needless to say, I dumped the app. It was buggy and slow anyway.

Waze may be going away, thanks to Google... Google maps has taken all the functionality of Waze anyway.

Wireless Car Play/Auto is awesome! If you have a 2020 or earlier with Car Play/Auto, i.e. no factory wireless Car Play/Auto, get one of those wireless USB devices from Amazon. About $100 and Worth it.

I thought Waze was a Google product. I never attempted to use it cause Gmaps never let me down.

Painted bumpers chip
That's true. Covering them with PPF nearly eliminates chips. Since the alternative is having to live with chrome, it's worth the extra cost for many people who don't want chrome.

Chrome gets undermined by rust and is basically unstoppable. Depends on the quality tho.

Chrome doesn't chip like paint. More of a pitting than chipping. But it's definitely a lot more durable than paint. Rust can certainly happen, but generally not for a very long time. If exposed to the same amount of debris, a chrome bumper will hold up much better. But add PPF to a painted bumper and the difference is a lot less significant.

I love a nice solid steel bumper for off-roading but detest chrome, so I'm willing to live with the elevated risk (and price) of color-matched parts for my aesthetic taste (especially at this price point).
