I am looking to add this option as well, i had purchased parts about a year ago and hadn't gotten it done yet. Just want to make sure I got the proper parts:

Door switch - 68212784AA
Left Module - 68286791AA
Right Module - 68289790AA

My VIN number on my truck is 1C6RR7UT4ES445113. When I opened up the truck drivers side door, I had this module:

Door switch - 68212783AB
Left Module - 68225101AA

I didn't open up the right side but I imagine it would be something like 68225100AA. Can someone confirm I have the proper modules and all that I would need is the Mirrors/AlphaODB update.

The part numbers you have are correct for adding the power folding feature.

Hi All! And, Mr. Benny (I need some help confirming part numbers and fitment.)

I have a 2017 Ram 1500 sport, VIN 1C6RR7HT3HS828698, with the tow package and tow mirrors (non-power fold). I am aware of the AlfaOBD software and the MX OBD Bluetooth module to program. I know that Benny has given module and switch part numbers like 50 times, and I did see the posts about only later years offering power fold tow mirrors, which is rare, and to go after market if I can't find OEM on eBay, or other means.

And, that is my main concern, I would really like to have the OEM power fold tow mirrors. Id just rather have OEM. Unless one of you can convince me otherwise. I can't imagine why MOPAR would not sell OEM power fold tow mirrors that would fit a 1500. So, I did some research, and I had an epiphany...

My first question is can I use 2500/3500 power fold trailer mirrors on my 1500 Ram?

From what I understand the 2500/3500 models have had this power fold trailer mirror option for a while. I need to confirm a part number for OEM tow mirrors that have power fold.

I found this on eBay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/274159005255.

It has a list of "interchange Part Number"s
Interchange Part Number:
128-04242R 128-04243L 68230828AB 68230828AC 68230828AD 68230829AB, 68230829AC 68230829AD 68285870AA 68285870AB 68285870AC 68285871AA, 68285871AB 68285871AC 68285871AD

Part Number: 68285870AC
Supersession(s): 68230828AB; 68230828AC; 68230828AD; 68285870AA; 68285870AB; 68412880AA

Will any of these fit a Ram 1500?

And, Mr. Benny, could you please confirm if I need new modules in the door and those part numbers, if required?

Also, I read in one of the forums that a Jeep door switch is the exact same as the Ram drivers side module EXCEPT... this witch has the light up mirror adjustment switch.

Does anyone have any experience with installing a Jeep switch like this? Any issues?

Hi,

Yes 2500/3500 mirrors work on 1500's

OE Equivalent to what you have + Power Folding are
68412883AC
68412880AC

Modules are
68286791AA
68286790AA

And the Illuminated Switch you can use is
68319803AA

Theres no problems with this switch upgrade, We sell many of them.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks,
-Benny

@AllMoparParts.com , Benny?

I found some mirrors that the seller says have tilt in reverse, can you please confirm if they are indeed and if my truck supports the tilt in reverse with the modules it has?

(P)68026559AD

thank you in advance Benny.

These mirrors are from an 09. There were a few changes made from 2013+ so I dont think they would be a good candidate.

In regards to the reverse feature I believe you need to have the memory option (module) and it can be turned on via a tool like tazer or alpha OBD.

None that I am aware of. The electrical architecture in these trucks changed around 2013, After this is when power folding mirrors were introduced so I cannot confidently recommend any to you.

Hi,
As long as the new mirrors are not Power Folding you do not need new modules.
