Yeah, stickin stock. Tks Ed G! There's a machine shop nearby, otherwise... i saw a 36 inch belt sander - Harbor Freight special for about same price as Dorman mani. Keep ya posted on my "adventure." My hope is the broken bolt(s) are flush with manifold and not with the head. If head, I don't have a welder and I'm with you, drilling out never works. Pay to have a shop do the nut-weld job. Tks much!!

I did mine on a 18" sander (or maybe smaller). But, check with the shop. They might do it cheap, you never know.

The biggest pain in the ass for me was removing the drivers side manifold. I had to pop out the dipstick tube from the block. I have a 2wd, it was easy-peasy, but 4wd sucks because the bolt for the bottom bracket is blocked.

Also, only the top rearmost bolts were broken on mine. and they were broken at the head of the stud, so there was a stub sticking out.

Ok... some hope! I've heard that undoing the upper bolt only on dip stick tube and removing the actual dip stick, gives enuff flexibilty to move tube. In my head... if a stub is left after getting the mani out, I can grip and undo the bolt! Is that a false hope?

I did mine on a 36-in belt sander (which is really 18-inches...).

This is the one I used:

Had to do some back and forth between center two ports and the outboard ports; but was able to get it pretty darn flat on the 18-in belt sander. I had about 0.090-in of warp in my manifolds between the front, rear, and center two ports.

Personally, I think once they've warped, milling / sanding them flat is the best course of action, as I don't think they'll warp again. 20k on them currently; they popped at ~90k, and I'm at 110k now. Even if they make it another 90k, I'll be happy. :)

Wild 1! Tks for the link! I'm in the gettin ready to do the same. Question... I noticed these gaskets don't have the upper metal piece angled on top. Do you think that not there would cause issues - I assume that would help to diffuse some heat. You've not seen an issues with this design?? Tks much!!
There's alot of trucks running headers and gaskets with-out the metal shielding, lol. I've had LT headers on my truck for 7 years and have been using the Remflex gaskets for the entire time with no issues, also have the same Remflex gaskets on the wifes long tubes on her 6.4 Challenger, and they been on for a couple years now with no issues either

Good luck getting them Milled. Everyone I spoke with didn't have the large belt sanders they used to have back in the day. Tooling from a cylinder head shop would get eaten up due to the manifold material and they wanted alot to do it. IF you can find a belt sander with about 2ft of flat surface you could prob get it done.
Find a machine shop that does flywheels. I’m sure they could manufacture a jig to hold the manifold in the correct position.

That's kind of a tough one to estimate. Do you have a feel for the hourly labor rate at the shop you'd like to use?

I'd figure on $100 in parts and 3-4hrs labor maybe? $500-700?

I think you're doing the right thing re-using the OEMs. They should have done all the twisting and turning they need to at this point.
To expand on PoMans comment, an acquaintance of mine went to a bone yard and purchased two exhaust manifolds off a wreck that had lots of miles on it since he needed the truck repaired without any delays by taking them to a machine shop (they where backlogged).

Dusty

I was quoted as high as $3300 and as low as $1500..I'm Using a local wrench with a great reputation for $1600 Max if both manifolds and gaskets are required. I'm assuming they will be required.

2016 Hemi Sport 40K on the ODO.

Should be a recall IMHO!

Recall would be for safety issue only. It would be a TSB, and they will not do because that would be admitting fault. Kind of like how they never issued a TSB for the lifter/cam failures even though they know is issue.
