Well, luckily Houston is well known for its year round cold climate, and the vehicle is built in Italy so reliability is bound to be amazing...

Well, GL on all that. At least being in Houston, U have a lot of places that can help U if there is an issue, as opposed to rural in TX.

I've always been lucky with reliability, even on vehicles notorious for unreliability, so hopefully we can say the same again this round. Frequent oil changes, regular maintenance, and being pretty easy on the vehicles until they are up to temp I think helps. This is basically a discounted version of the Alfa Romeo Tonale.

They are going to have a hybrid version as well, which is what I would have preferred, but I can't wait a year for a new vehicle. So we've ordered the regular little tubo option which with 265hp and AWD should be pretty peppy.

Nice thing about turbos on the highway is that it makes 295ftlbs down low, so should be pretty effortless making passing maneuvers on what is still a pretty small vehicle.

I say congrats! I think these vehicles will sell really well. Excellent price point and will fit that segment well. From everything we have learned about them, I think you will love it.

You're a girl...It's OK to drive that. Otherwise, I'd revoke your man card. :happy175:
Hornet is PH balanced for a woman but strong enough for a man.

Well the only other hatchback style Dodge is the Durango, and that would be a lot more expensive to buy and operate I think. We had priced one out and a GT with blacktop and the new 10.1" uconnect was something like $45K MSRP. Plus, I added a front camera to my Ram as I find it so much easier to inch up to walls so you don't have to reverse park every time, and I don't think the Durango has a 360 camera option at any price while the Hornet had a 360 camera option.

I think the Hornet will be great for our trips as it has level 2 autonomous driving.

The Jeep Cherokee is rated 29mpg highway with the same AWD powertrain, but I'm thinking the Hornet might even hit 30mpg since its a bit slicker shape.

Looks nice but I'm not a fan of SUVs in general. I might break for a TrailHawk though.

Here's a video that shows off their GLH model, I do love the Dodge marketing guys that come up with their paint colors and names... Goes Like Hell, heh! Its based on the RT that will boast 383 lb-ft of torque.

I wondered when Dodge would venture into that market. Nice looking ride. Enjoy!

Thanks! I was considering a Mazda CX30 or similar, but if we can go 'Murican (well Italian-American) that's a little bit roomier and quicker to boot, why not?

Seems like compact crossovers are almost as hot as pickups right now. Supposedly the little Hornet can tow 2K lbs, but they don't sell a tow package so will have to see what becomes available, just enough to tow a little motorcycle trailer or small trailer for some mulch and what not unbraked would be great.
