I have a 2014 Ram 1500 Express. It has the base model radio in it. I was u der the assumption that it was not bluetooth capable. I have no phone buttons on my steering wheel and no phone button on the radio. I've had the truck for about 5 months now and the other day I used the remote start as usual and when I got in the truck, it had a message on the radio that said Bluetooth ready or Bluetooth to connect, I can't remember. It has never had that message before. I quickly tried to open my phone up and turn on Bluetooth to see if it would pair, but by the time I got it ready, the message was gone on the screen. I really only want to play my music on the radio from my phone. Anyway, I have went thru every menu, pressed every button and I can't get that Bluetooth message to come back. Has anyone had this happen or know what's going on ? This is the radio I have.

Sounds like it glitched. The 3” radio does not have Bluetooth capabilities until the 2017 model. You have the option of upgrading your radio to the 5” screen and it has Bluetooth. Only thing you need to add for the 5” radio is a microphone for talking.

It's possible it has been replaced with a newer radio.

For the OP, With the truck on does your phone display "uconnect" as an option to pair with? If so try initiating pairing from your phone.

Or he could click menu and see if it gives him the option. My 2017 came with the 3” and Bluetooth but had the phone button on the radio.

Thanks for the response guys. Yea, I have no idea what happened. I've only seen it do that that one time. I've been all thru the menu and there's nothing about bluetooth. No unconnected message on my phone either. It was a fleet truck, so I doubt it had a radio change.
