2017 Bighorn, 41K 1 owner, no after market mod’s, not using Uconnect.
The screen did not come on this morning but the manual dash mounted controls worked, I just did not know what temperature settings I was setting or changing too or what radio station. 45 degrees out side. I drove 1/2 mile, stopped, turned off the key FOB, waiting about A minute, restarted, this time about 30 seconds later it booted up and seems fine. This is the 2nd time for this in about a month. What can I do to fix or repair? Thanks in advance for your constructive comments.

Also curious if anyone has a fix. I replaced mine because my last was always black screen... I plugged in new one and it worked long enough for me to put the code in.. on restart the next morning, it's now black as well. Tried the smaller 5" radio out of my other 2014 and it's black.. plugging either of these in my other truck they both work. I do not believe the issue is with the actual radio. I believe it's something else as when this goes black, I also loose the lights on my temp and volume knobs. I can hear the radio making sounds as well so something is working inside. Tried the reset(hold mute channel change buttons) to no avail. Tried leaving negative off over night.. that did not work either. Checked every fuse including the hard to find one below master cyl.. still nothing. At a loss here on the fix...

UPDATE: Fixed mine... Turned out it was the HVAC Module going bad. Replaced it with a new one and radio works like it should, no more black screen!

I'm curious where that HVAC module is physically? Mine blacked out this weekend for the third time and just came back this morning seemingly when I put my travel mug my cup holder. All I could think of was well damn that's random.

Mine added the blackout trick to its list of malfunctions Thursday after I had it in for a diagnostic on Wednesday. What a POS!!!!!!!!!! We own a 2018 2500 Laramie and a 2022 Bighorn. and neither has a radio that operates properly. Ram does nothing to fix the 22 but give a one finger salute, so much for a warranty.

I have a 2017 Ram bighorn. Radio screen keeps going on & off. Took it to Ram Service and they replaced the radio ... did not help. this Thread states that the HVAC Module may be the culprit... does anyone else have a fix to this problem
