Wow! A lot of rumors flying around! But I have to admit, at least the rumors are something! Mine was ordered 1/31/22, built on 6/14/22 & that was the last of it's progress that I have heard.
For those of you saying you will never buy a Ram again... go on a Chevy or Ford forum. They are having the same issues with some reporting longer delays than what we are seeing here. Our country... our world is in a real mess right now & seems to deteriorate more every day.

I ordered a 3500 Laramie in March of 2022. Tracker says it was built on August 19th. But still has not shipped, yet the estimated time of delivery is October 17th. Has anyone else had this happen. At this point I dont know what to do plow season is coming and this truck may not show.

Man, that really is nuts. Why is it so random? My 2500 was built on 9/23 and I picked it up yesterday at Granger in Iowa. Options don't figure into this one since your truck is already built.

I am truly glad that you received your truck. This is driving me nuts, I am going to call the dealer today again. WTF is going on with Ram? I did notice that my truck was advertised on True Car as reserved. So it's in there inventory listing now. Maybe that is a good sign that it will be shipped out soon. Keeping my fingers crossed...

I was at Ram service dept. today asking a few Q's about my truck, when I asked about the delay some people are having on ordered truck was surprised when I was told if a person orders a truck with the Cummins HO today they are in for along wait, I inquired more an was really shocked when told they have a 7-8 month delay in getting HO engines from Cummins o_O if you order a truck with an SO Cummins there is no added delay in building them...

I wonder what he would say about a H/O that was ordered in January, completed in June, and still in Mexico in October?

Why would they assemble a truck that did not have all the parts on it, they would have to have a very large parking area full of unfinished trucks.
Sure all it would need would be a CPU & some programming to send the truck to the body vendor

It does not make sense to build it & then have to tow it or move it by hand over to the Holding area.
Then when the parts are available, they would have to pull or push the truck to a special assembly area, to install the missing equipment.

Have you not seen the pictures of that very thing? I've seen it first hand at the Louisville Truck Plant.

The alternative is build nothing. What do you do with the parts you do have? What do you do with your workers?

I am getting absolutely nothing from Ram Customer Care. It is now going on 3 months since my truck was built, now we are getting into the Hurricane season, i am worried about damage from storms. Does anyone know how they are stored after they have been completed?
I am not getting any help from the dealer. I asked if maybe they could throw in a set of mud flaps and was denied. No extras. If I could find another new Mega Cab I would go buy it. No Mega Cabs to be found anywhere.
I was told by the dealer on August 7th, that my truck would be on the next train out of Mexico. The dealer received some new Rams last week. My truck was not on it....WTF.....
I've found Chrysler/Ram Customer care that was great under Chrysler to be 100% useless under Fiat and now Stellantis

Its strange that some get there truck quickly while others do not, I would like to see build sheets of those who got there truck within 3-4 months of order to those who are still waiting 6+ months.. BTW the person who told me about the delay ordered there 2500 truck with and HO engine in Sept of 21, they took deliver in mid Jan 22 a 5 month wait...

Down in Saltillo Mexico,

The HO is only 1 vehicle, not building them only hurts he people that have ordered them

At that same Saltillo Plant, they also build

Ram 1500 Standard Cab
Ram 2500 with variety of cabs
Ram 3500 with variety of cabs
Ram 4500 with variety of cabs
Ram 5500 with variety of cabs
each can be configured with several engine options

The employees are not lacking for work

It will take several more months to get the needed flow of
automotive semiconductors will likely remain through at least the year 2023.
Although a few automakers indicate they are back at full production, most report continuing shortages.

FWIW, I was quoted a 6-9 month wait for a 2023 2500 PW.

If the car companies could beg, borrow or steal semiconductors, it would only take 4 to 5 months to have a Ram built in Saltillo Mexico, to reach your dealership.
In years from 2009 - 2018 or 2019, that was the average time for delivery.

For several of those years, they were also building the Sterling brand trucks down there

What kills me is not giving your customers a straight answer. Still am told it's a "train shortage" yet I'm over at the rail yard every day picking up loads of packages that were shipped the day prior. It's just obvious bs. To me I've noticed it seems something to do with cummins models. I've really only seen new 2022 2500 hemis which are generally the minority. Just should tell your customers the truth instead of them resorting to forums for answers

I don't think you can compare box car movement with Auto transport rail car movement, I know of guys who had there trucks sitting in a rail car for 3 months before the rail yard got it unloaded (the rail road is short of workers, they laid off a lot of workers due to Covid but will only hire them back at a lower wage and most have said heck no) I was lucky in mine only sat in the Spokane rail yard for 3 weeks before it got unloaded in March of this year... I bought mine from the biggest Ram & GMC dealer in North America even they were at the mercy of the Rail Road waiting for them to unload rail cars so they could arrange transport trucks to deliver them to there lots. In fact when I picked mine up in mid March there was 3 transport truck that arrived at 9PM loaded with truck for the dealer, I noticed that 2 of 3 transporter truck had 2500 & 3500 trucks all with Cummins engines the other GMC trucks...
