Wheel Hub difference

Have a 2020 Ram Big Horn, Hemi with a possible front wheel hub going bad. Have traction light and service 4x4 lights on. My question is what hub should I get. My factory wheels are 18" so I assume I have standard duty hubs. When looking for hubs they have 2 options. One for NOT 22" wheels and one with 22" wheels. I run 22" aftermarket wheels in the summer and switch back to factory 18" for winter. If I get the heavy duty hubs for 22 wheels will they work on the factory 18". Or just stay with NOT with 22" hub. I guess the 22" hub is larger? Thanks for the info..

Not enough information. Saying you have a 2020 Ram is like saying you have a 2020 Dodge. What model do you have? Light duty or HD? The fact that you said you have 17" wheels tells me you aren't asking about the new 1500 (DT) models.

2020 ram big horn. Gen 5. Factory wheels were 18 not 17. My apologies. " 5.7 hemi. Would rather upgrade to heavy duty hubs but not sure they will work with my 18 wheels. Not sure why they wouldn't.

HD hubs on a 1500? I haven't heard of anyone doing this. Not sure why you would even want to do that. Sounds expensive though. I'd just replace the bad hub with stock. Best of luck.

I was implying 1500DT. I've heard of people doing this on older 1500's. Excuse my ignorance, but do you mind if I ask why you'd want HD hubs on a light duty truck?

I don't necessarily want the HD hubs. I'm just curious what the difference is in the ones for 22" rims vs smaller rims. I have factory 18" but run 22" rims in the summer. My hub has likely failed in under 50k miles so if the 22" rim hub is better or more robust and will work with the 18" rim then why not use them. I just was asking what the difference is. I went to order one and it gave me 2 choices. One for 22" rim and one for smaller rim. Seems like they would just use one hub.. Dodge is slowly loosing my support. Oil plug and filter location, plus failed parts in under 50k is ridiculous.

You need non 22” hubs. The hub diameter in the steering knuckle is different on trucks that come with 22’s from the factory
