Have any of you ever sat in your truck in complete silence, engine not running, no radio, nothing, and noticed a weird high pitched sound? Sounds like it’s coming from the dash somewhere. Key is not in the ignition. I have a 2015 Rebel. I’m just curious.

Does it last for a while or stopes after about 15 to 20 seconds? If so it is your actuators in your air box calibrating themselves. They do this every time you open the door after the truck sits for a while.

Does your truck have a CD/DVD player? I have a non-ram vehicle where the CD player/DVD will run for a bit (sometimes) after the vehicle is shut off. Faint high-pitched sound. Once ya open the door, it cuts the power and stops. But the CD player in my Ram doesn't do this ..that I've *noticed*.

Also, I heard a guy one time say ..the fin on top of the ram roof is a microwave communication device which sends a geo-loaction tag to aliens:eek: in another galaxy. Which is why they built the James Webb Space Telescope. People with especially acute hearing (and certain animals) may be able to pick up on the high-pitched transmissions, but most can't. I should probably go on FB to confirm this stuff before letting the secret out.:driver: Other than that, I'm out of ideas.

My key is always in my pocket, but yes Walleyb4 is correct I think.
I can hear the doors opening, or closing? In the heater.
Maybe getting ready for Halloween?

Wallyb4, I think that may be it. Thanks!
Although I like Jeepwalker’s explanation.

I had to find out, so just went out in my Ram and set up the scenario you described.

Holly Crap !!!!! I did hear a sound. It was God saying, “ You need to put 37’s on this Ram my son”

I ran inside and told the Mrs….. but she’s not buying it. Her response….”nice try” :favorites37:

I also just found out that the noise goes away when I activate the door locks while sitting inside. Case closed, I guess.

At my age , I want it lower, not higher, Had a loaded up 2010 and I thought it was the quietest truck I ever owned , it was , but than got hearing aids, and I hear a rattle in glove box area, She said it was always there.
My 2014 has the big radio with nav, and with that , you have 2 women nagging about speed, one I guess I could turn off????????, not sure which.

I hear it every few minutes driving down the road. Sounds like it's on the driver's side without touching anything, doesn't sound mechanical but electronic. Like a high pitched 'squeek'.
