I have a 2017 Ram 1500 with the 5.7 Hemi. I would like to replace the muffler with one that sound more aggressive but is still pretty quite while your cruising.

There are a Ka zillion threads on mufflers with as many opinions as on Oil Filters, oil type etc. Type mufflers for a search top right next to yer name and explore.
Every answer you get will be subjective to a particular individual, and playing the muffler game can be expensive. FTR, I run stock on my DT truck, not need all dat noise, lol.

What the bird said. Do a search, this topic has been flogged to death. Listen to YouTube vids and get one that has the sound you are after.

I recommend using the one that came with it.

Just about anything besides a Mopar factory replacement will be louder/noisier than what you have. Even the aftermarket mufflers which claim to be stock replacements aren't as quiet as factory. So if you just bought a stock Walker replacement muffler, based on the ones I've installed on other vehicles, they'll be a bit (noticeably) louder than what your stock muffler is now. But it may not have a 'tone'.

I like your idea to start mild. I've had a mild tone muffler on a GM truck for several years, which I drive a lot. People like it but a 'tone' sometimes is code for "LOUD". I'm about fed up with mine. The constant drone at hwy speed gets annoying and even fatiguing after a while. It hasn't given me any more power (that's another false claim most make). That said, I have a Flowmaster on a certain stock classic car which is very low tone and much more liveable and not annoying at all. I can't really recommend a brand or model anymore since the landscape has changed so much since I last shopped around. But companies have recordings you can listen to, and there are a lot of youtube videos worth checking out. What one person says is 'Great/Perfect' might not be what you're thinking. Hopefully you'll get some audibles from forum members too. Try to gauge how it would sound at highway speeds.

Edit: I plan on keeping my Ram exh stock lol.

I bought an oem from Napa...quiet when cruising, but nice rumble when you put the hammer down.

Look into the black widow venom 250. You need to have it welded in. But you'll get good sound at idle and on the throttle, but zero drone on the highway.

When and if I have to replace my muffler/exhaust system, I will replace with a Corsa system.

If you have the money to do it, buy a full cat back kit as they are usually a bit better sounding than just a muffler swap. I like borla myself but may be biased. You can look up all the videos you want on YouTube as there is definitely a video for every muffler swap out there.
