It is a good thing that I will only have to finance $20,000. Alot of people that are getting new Rams with less down, will hurt alot more. At least my I will have my truck next month. Hope everyone else will get theirs soon.
Im in the same boat. The 18 is paid off and only has 53k on it so ill be financing about 25 or so. Sucks for the guys with no equity to play with.

Is there any way to track where the rail car has been? It is supposed to arrive in Kent Wa November 3rd. I should receive it by mid November. There is a recall on the ECM, I requested that they get one ordered up, so I don't have to wait for that to arrive. Any one have an opinion on the Firestone tires that they come with? Can you go with a little taller tire without any issues? It would be nice if they could give you credit for the new tires they come with. It would be nice to put some Pro Comp A/Ts on it. It's no fun trying to wear out tires that you don't like.

If Sterling Heights plans to meet their opening 2023 Production date

They better start lubing their robots & checking the conveyor belts

Posted in the Power Wagon section already, but I attempted to order a 2023 Power Wagon today and was told I could not. You can order a 2500 Rebel or a 1500 of any stripe, but no 2500 Power Wagon. :(

Your dealer can tell you where the truck was on the rail line within the last 8 hours that is if they are willing to do, this is based on my dealer being able to tell me when mine was any time I asked.. As for tires if you have dealer take them off you can bet the dealer will give you next to nothing for them so your choice is take the small pay out right away, drive them until they wear out or take them off sell them your self...

Called the dealership and was told the truck is still in mexico and hasnt left STILL due to railcar shortages. Called around to other dealerships in the area and they are puzzled by this. Trying to push up the chain of command to get better answers. If it truly is only due to railcar shortage for this long why not pay a trucker to pickup the trucks instead? Had an eta of September 25th for a few weeks now nothing. For awhile. Gotta say im really tempted to saying the hell with ram and going with another brand due to such poor communication. This is not just a Ram issue. All makes are having the same problem. And the dealer is probably not telling you much because he has nothing positive to tell you. They have very little they can do about the situation. As far as trucking them up... well apparently you haven't heard that there is a trucker shortage to. The country needs around 80,000 more drivers to move freight. And even if there was enough drivers I doubt they would go that route as it would cost a LOT more! There is not much you can do except be patient or buy something off the lot.

I found an option for trucking it up for qoute of 1000-3000. I also have my cdl and could truck it up myself if provided a truck. Also again I called multiple dealerships and they said for it to be sitting in mexico for that long doesn't line up for being a "railcar" shortage and they've been receiving trucks for customers that have waited less. Yes I realize my options is to wait or too cancel. But I was told 10-14 weeks total time from start to finish in March and now it's taking longer just for shipping alone. I also gave them my 2500 then because 10-14 wasn't a horrible wait time and I could make it by for that long. All that with seems to me to be given a bs story of why it isn't moving and ram having nobody to give me a straight answer is horrible. I can track socks and know exactly what's going on with the shipping. I should be able to do the same on a 100k truck lol

Dealership isn't sure if it's "allowed" again seems like excuses instead of being straightforward. Especially if I provide a solution and offer to pay.

I've never read of anyone being allowed to go to Mexico to pick up their truck. This would be a first. I thought they had to go through some process at the dealer to run correctly too.

I was told October 2nd by Ram Care. Then I checked with the dealer and they said it didn't ship out. Now the dealer is saying it's shipped but not sure where it is now. But the Ram tracking says not shipped. I see some other trucks coming into my dealership that were build after mine.
I asked if the truck had been damaged or something. But no, just not shipped. Nov 14th will be 9 months since order was conformed.

I guess you don't know what happens at the Border with Mexico
If you had the proper Mex Insur & Permits to drive a truck & trailer down to northeastern Mexican state of Coahuila & then to Saltillo.
You would have to have official paperwork from Ram Headquarters that tells the Railroad & the Assembly Plant that allows you to release it to you.

Now you are on the Mexican Highway, you have a couple things to watch out for
1) would be a pedestrian that is hiding in a ditch, waiting on your approach & then jumping out in front of you & purposely getting hit, they now own your tow vehicle, trailer, & new truck an you are going to a Mexican Prison until the American Consulate & a very good lawyer get you out of Mexico.
Forget about your property, be glad that your not in Mexico, by the way, the Federales give the Mexican family your address & you better start carrying, because they are after you & your family & any property they can get their hands on.

2) besides the person in the ditch,
There is the Mexican Mafia, they watch you & likely when you Stop for snack, you will lose everything, maybe your life.

The Freight Trains that haul the vehicles are enclosed for a reason, a Flat Bed railroad car hauling vehicles, would be stripped.

It is just best to grab your skies and polish, then be patient
There is no better answer

Oh, i forgot, every official that you see south of the Border has their hands out, it is called Mordida
Mordida definition, a bribe or kickback.

Well said! I don't know how you could think it would be as simple as going down there & picking up your truck & driving home.

I would be very concerned working with a dealer that would be "puzzled" by the delay in HD Ram Trucks coming into the country. They either are not importing any vehicles to the country or are lying to you to try & get your business. Unless you have been under a rock for the last couple of years you should know that there is a huge delay in products being moved around the country. And products coming from out of the country are even worse.
I believe my truck has been drastically delayed due to 1. supply issue with a certain part of a trim that I ordered. & 2. The rail companies & unions that can't come up with a compromise. Your dealership has very little to nothing to do with the delay of your truck. And the more you bug them about it, the less helpful they will likely be. As I said before you have tow options... either you wait patiently for the truck you ordered, or you go look for one that is already on the lot.

Union and rail companies never went on strike or skipped a beat. They came to an agreement before the strike happened of a 25% pay increase over the next 4 years.

This gives me a better timeline. It seems silly for ram to deliver trucks to customers that have waited less time then others when both trucks are built. I don't get their reasoning. I asked the same or if it was one that suffered hail damage. Was told the same
