I recently got A/T tires that stick out about an inch or two past the fender. Photos and more details here:

But I’ve driven over gravel a few times and my own driveway is gravel too. After being in gravel or pulling out of my driveway I can hear rocks being thrown for a bit afterwards, especially once I get on the highway. My biggest concern is the potential for hitting other cars or breaking a windshield. Is this a legitimate concern? Are fender flares my only real option to prevent that from happening?

I’m honestly not a huge fan of fender flares but I may go that route if that’s my only option. But I figured I’d ask for advice before I did that. I’d rather do fender flares than change tire size at this point.

Mud flaps would be a better option for behind you in conjunction with fender flares to protect your own paint. Generally the rocks are in the tighter tread areas so mud flaps are probably your most viable choice to prevent flinging rocks

Mud Flaps would for sure be the best start. Flares are something you need to commit to with a black truck as they're gonna require some paint protection film or they're gonna leave marks. I have a similar setup as you with slightly less offset and Mud Flaps cured about 75-90% of my rock flinging complaints and I am off-road in some form everyday. Flares obviously helped and in conjunction both eliminated any issue but flares require a good bit of preventative work and maintenance imo.

I have/had the same issues. I first tried mudflaps but they only helped about 50% of the problem. Rocks flew off the tires from the top and even the front as the tire rotated if they had been jammed in pretty tight. The only thing that really worked for me was fender flares. Not my favorite but they finally solved the problem.

Are there any good flares that don’t require moving the hemi badges?

Probably not, but it’s pretty easy. I used fishing line to saw behind each badge to cut the double sided tape. Then i peeled of the remainder and cleaned it up with wd40. I used 3m auto tape to reapply badges after I installed the flares.

could you tell me what brand the flares that you used ? I’m in the same boat but cant seem to find a smaller flare. Everything i find overpowers the look of my truck, i am running stock size tires and don’t want to large of a flare

Ram 2500 flares are what you're after if you want nice and sleek.

I have Weathertech mud flaps on my ride. I know they not stopping 100% of the rocks and such, but do help, and I also know running AT3W's gonna chip up the paint, maybe a lil, the price we pay. But I'll take good tires ne time over friggin SRA Balloons. Helps I do not have a lot of off-roading to do, unless out in a field like picking up hay.

My Mudflaps dont do much...lol.. ( The only reason I have them, is to keep those pesky Pigs of my ass)

And Since I like my truck and plan on keeping it for another 10y, fender flares are out of the question up here. They just rot your fenders away in our climate.

My factory flares and Weathertech mudflaps do a pretty good job of knocking down the flinging rocks from my 35's.

I actually ended up getting Mopar flares. For some reason the installation hardware wasn’t included so I’m currently waiting on that, but I did throw them on halfway just to see what they might look like. I actually like the stance with the flares, surprisingly. I’m gonna install with the XPEL tape like suggested elsewhere on the forum once I get the installation hardware. Also prolly gonna paint the rivets black.

The Mopar flares were pricey, but I liked them much better than the other aftermarket options. I went with part 82214281AC

Here’s what I’m following for the install to make sure I don’t get damage:

Finally got the hardware, in case anyone wants to see what it looks like. The place JB1 got the black powder coated rivets from is closed down for the time being, so I just painted them myself with some spray paint. Might not last, but I guess I’ll see how it does.

What size wildpeaks are this they look like they stick out a little. I have stock rims +18 trying to decide if I go bigger then the 275 65 duratracs I have on it. Also what is the comment about keeping pigs away?
