i have a 2019 1500 classic 5.7 Hemi !
like most of the 5.7 Hemi's i to have a leak on left side ( passenger side) my truck has 98,361 Km on the clock ! i called the dealer today run my vin and found out that it is covered under warranty and that is NOT extended that's power train !
I have a appointment for Tuesday morning to have the studs extracted and manifold repaired !
Lets see what they say and do ! I asked if they are replacing manifold or Machining or running then on a belt sander to true them up !? I got replace gasket and install when questioned about machining or sanding or replacing Got they will look and see how bad the are !
So when I go back in on Tuesday I will be asking service manager Questioning and see what he tells me lol
I am expecting bolt extract gaskets and bolting back up lets see what they do

Will keep you all updated !

In the past, they would only replace with another set of the same manifolds that were guaranteed to warp and leak yet again. They would not re-machine the existing manifolds.

I often wonder since they will replace a crappy manifold with another crappy manifold that is sure to be crappy again, if they'd bolt on a set of shorty headers if you bought them yourself. I mean they are direct bolts ones with no modifications needed and they'll already have it apart. I'd be more than willing to supply a set of headers if they'd cover the labor with the warranty. Wishful thinking I'm sure though lol

They used to replace the manifolds, but now it seems unless they crack they just throw on new gaskets and hardware and call it good.

If this 2019 classic was like mine, it will have tie-bars between the manifold bolts and the manifolds themselves. If that's the case, the manifold(s) are likely cracked.

From what I've read, the tie bars do a good job in keeping the bolts from breaking, but put push that stress to the manifolds.

Manifold design must be holistic - strapping a warping manifold adds stress to the manifold that wasn't considered in the original design. This may be sufficient to crack the manifold, indeed my exhaust performance shop saw exactly this with the Dorman aftermarket manifolds.

Either the manifold needs to be massive enough to keep warping to acceptable minimum, or the warping manifold needs to be remachined flat

From your friendly(?), retired mechanical design engineer, with some experience with cast iron designs.

It's really difficult to understand why Chrysler can make this last 10 years...
I have each side 3 broken bolts and total 6 broken bolts can't remove, it's really require some professional trick to remove the broken bolts and I failed.
But a good tip is about the manifold, a wisdom Youtuber show that manifold is twist because the high temperature, so even if you change a new one, it will twist again, he just polish the manifold, let the twist face back to a plat surface, and it no longer leak again, even I only have 5 bolts fix the 8 holes, It not leak again, so if you find the new parts doesn't work, use this tool to make the manifold have a plat surface, it works :)
I don't remember the video address, but this is the sander:

My manifold had a 3-5mm deformation, when it under 1mm, the bolts and gasket can seal the gap
so, if Chrysler pre-heat this part and sander it before install it, this will never a problem for this Ram
After sander the heated manifold, it will no long deformation.

Very seldom can you not get the broken bolts out by welding a nut to them. Remflex gaskets are probably the best gaskets to use,as they'll absorb alot of deflection with-out leaking, and take some of the stress off the bolts

Nothing else to do with them right now, this truck is under full warranty, so let them fix this with all new part and after the warranty is out, next time you can sander this part by yourself.

Ya I have 1200 Km left on Warranty so yes I am going to let then repair it !
But I am going to question them on how repair was done I.e. weather they replaced manifold or machined or just replaced manifold so I know weather i will be pulling manifold and machine it and reinstall it so I don't have to do it again my self !
also I was a mechanic for about 20 years before I left the trade so they will know I know what I am talking about! hopefully they will do it properly then

Ask to keep the old manifolds. If nothing else get them machined/sanded and sell them on ebay (or here) as 'reconditioned'.

About half of the engines I can think of from various manufacturers I can recount at least one example of a cracked manifold. I have a neighbor that rattles by my house every morning at 6:20 AM in a Super Duty with both cracked exhaust manifolds. There might be something to PoMansRam comment regarding the tiebars. Broken bolts have plagued a number of 5.7 Hemis for a while, but cracked manifolds appear to be a more recent problem.

Mine has the tiebars. I'll keep you all informed.

Dusty

My 2019 Ram also had the leaking manifolds just a few months back at about 96,000Km.
As I am keeping my truck for the long haul and didn't want to deal with this known issue ever again I went and purchased a set of JBA coated shorty headers, a pair of MOPAR SRT 3-layer gaskets and 16 MOPAR studs and my dealership did the work under warranty for me.

The new found torque is amazing, and I am glad I spent the extra money and got the shorty headers.

I then took my truck to a local performance exhaust shop about a week after the manifold replacements and had them make a custom mandrel bent 3" stainless-steel Y-Pipe with a flange and connected it to the existing 3" Magnaflow cat-back system.... I s--t you not when I say that I gained a couple to few MPG and the engine breathes and flows so much smoother now. And again, another torque boost with the Y-Pipe mod too.

Best upgrades I have made to my Ram to date, hands down!
