quick question: how long did it take for you all to lose the winch cable pull strap ? i just noticed it was gone.no idea when.
Still have mine. I was reminded within the first 4k by @IRSmart to flip the hook over so the strap could not get removed from the winch while it was tight against my tow hook when stored.

mine hook was frozen to the little tab on the fairlead last winter so i tapped it with a hammer and i broke off the little nub at the end of the tab.so my hook is barely on the stupid thing.if i remember it was around -40c when i broke it.talk about brittle.

if i use my tow hook it covers one of the sensors and screams at me from the evic.so that's out.i'll eventually get a winch cable bumper.i have a couple from my side by side winch but they're for 1/4" cable.

Oh yeah I forgot about that. The front sensor is turn off because it doesn’t like my lights. I suggest the Ultra hook from Factor 55 then!
We had a 10 page thread going about it a few years ago…

very nice hooks but no way am i paying that much for a hook.i've already spent more than i wanted to on good shackles and snatch blocks.kind of makes a very expensive hook redundant.i rarely use my winch for a straight line pull.

My hook strap is under the seat with the controller...
No reason to have it flappin in the breeze when it's unlikely I'll ever use it...

Same here, took it off the first day and stowed it together with the remote.
