Hi Everyone, I recently started having issues with one of my rear parking sensors going off when there was nothing behind my vehicle. I pulled the sensor out of the housing only to find that one of the clips that holds it in the housing was broken.

So, it looks like I need one new sensor. A search for the part number gave me 1EW63TZZAA.

Has anyone had any luck with the aftermarket variety because the cost from Mopar is crazy high?

Also, I gather from my google searches that they come in black and must be paint matched.

$243 for 1 sensor, geez? I would be junk yard scrounging at that rate. Just IMHO.

Added: A look shows there is also a mounting bezel. Is the bezel broken also, and if you thought sensor bad, U may have to get both. Rockauto showed $160 for sensor. Man, I sure as heck be a junk yard BOIRD for sure. But that is just me. Just a quick look.

These prices are just ridiculous and the Canadian version is worse.

I'll just shut the rear sensors off before spending that kind of money. I'm gonna see what the local wreckers has for me.

The steel mounting bezel is fine. The sensor has two little plastic knubs that grab into the steel bezel. One of them is broken off; I'm not sure how.......I get my truck oil sprayed so maybe the sensor got whacked with the spray wand.

If I play around with the sensor in the bezel I can sometimes get it to stop beeping when it shouldn't because it seats properly. Then I'll go over a bump and the next time I put the truck in reverse it acts up again. Because that one knub is no longer there I think the sensor isn't seating properly now and when that happens I think it's sensing the white outer ring of the exterior of the sensor.

I'd be making a new "nub" with a dollip of jb-weld and filing it to shape before spending that carzy $$ for a sensor!
I never even thought of that chopperman1. Is the JB-Weld that strong that I could do that ?

Get the original 2 part JB Weld, and it'll be alot stronger then the plastic nub ever was. Once glued in place with JB odds are you'll have to bust the sensor to remove it.
