hi 2016 5.7 changing plugs pulled coil on number 3 aft plug. had oil in tube does value cover have to be pulled to change tube seal

Yes pull valve cover honestly you should do both while your there if one leaks other one is behind it they sell the gasket in a kit for both sides.

It does. I just did it this morning because I had some oil in the aft tube of #8. Didn't look bad for 76k miles.
