I'm thinking this might be the clockspring. But when I turn there is a clicking noise that basically sounds like if you had a plastic tab or something and were flicking with with your finger. Happens every turn. I don't hear it with the radio on as its not really loud, just annoying I hate random noises.

I thought maybe a wire came lose and was hitting the plastic in the steering column but you can tap it, slap it, bang it around and nothing. Only makes noise if you turn.

I took it apart a few years ago to add steering wheel controls, but it just started doing it recently after hunting on a really rough road.

No dash lights, everything works fine its just annoying.

Maybe time to just buy a leather wrapped wheel to swap and see if it fixes. Any ideas?

Weird, my 2010 Charger Police started doing this about a year ago. Sounded like something had dropped down inside and got stuck. Suddenly, one morning I came out to go to work and noise was gone and hasn't returned. Just as you wrote, not very loud, didn't hear with radio noise, but it was there for sure. ****, gone after about a year or less of it.
