I ran a 2019 w/5.7 VVT up to 42k and just gave it to my daughter and son-in-law. I had zero issues with it. If I had concerns about it going forward, I wouldn’t have passed it on to family.

Any issues should be worked out by now.

Biggest things I would check are:

1. If the exhaust sounds loud-ish under the hood at idle (cracked exhaust manifold - covered under 5/60 powertrain warranty).

2. If you hear any valvetrain ticks when you start the engine (especially cold). If you do hear any ticks they should go away in a few seconds once the oil starts pumping through the passages. If the tick is persistent for awhile then that might be an issue (valvetrain or broken exhaust manifold bolt - both covered under 5/60 powertrain warranty).

3. Rear cab window (with slider). Check along the top of the window frame to see if there are any cracks in it.

4. Rear headliner. Check to see if there are any stains in the headliner at the rear of the cab (would indicate 3rd brake light or shark fin gasket leaking).

I've got 76K on my 2019 Big Horn (5.7L - no eTorque) and still going strong.

Thanks for the good write up! I appreciate that!

No problem. Happy to help.

Last thing I would recommend is check the build date on the door jamb sticker. Not all options were available on the assembly line until the Oct/Nov 2018 timeframe so any of the "early" builds before that did not have all options available so make sure the truck has what you are looking for.
