You don't state what your issue is but I'll share mine. I have a 2022 1500 Classic with around 1,100 miles. When refueling, the nozzle shuts off repeatedly. I have to hold the nozzle and keep resetting it. Pain in the ass in NJ where we're not trusted to pump our own gas. First attendant at first fill up bent my fuel door by jamming the nozzle in it to keep it from kicking off. No biggie, I bent it back in place. Now, I just get out of the truck and by the time the attendant takes three steps away the nozzle kicks off and I take it from there.

Had this problem with a past truck....I used to rotate the nozzle while it was in the pipe, to the right, and that cured it.

You need to have the gas tank replaced. Had mine done last month. May as well do it now. Didn't take long, was covered under the extended warranty. The tanks are on their 3rd version since I bought my truck so they are constantly redoing it.

Has this been ongoing for years? I just got myself a 2020 Ram 1500 Classic with 31k km and I noticed that the nozzle kicks off frequently enough while re-fuelling. I usually pull it out a bit and it “usually” doesn’t kick off again until it’s full. Is this something fully covered by the manufacture warranty? Do I just call them and say this is happening?

Thanks

Just a Public Service Announcement…If you fuel at Sheetz…They have a slip on cover on the nozzle assembly and on the top of it is square rubber covered metal plate. RIP THAT POS OFF before you insert it into the fill neck. If you do not, that plate will scratch up your paint above the fuel door. Ask me how I know…
I take great pleasure in ripping that plate out and dropping that rusty piece of pot metal on the ground.

As a sidenote, why in the hell does NJ still have attendants to pump gas?

Basically yes, call the dealership and they will get you in to replace it.

I actually just called the dealership and they mentioned my fuel tank replacement during the call ... they are replacing all fuel tanks now that have this issue because it's an emissions issue and has to be "resolved" ..

So if you guys are having this issue at least here in California it looks like they are finally replacing them as long as they can replicate the problem ...they will ask you for $15 to put gas in it and see if it clicks off and how many times, if it does it more than 3 times while you are pumping the $15 worth of gas they will approve a replacement, there is also a $200 diagnostics fee that they will waive if they can replicate the problem, if they can't they will keep your $200 diagnostics fee lol ..

I said nope, I am ok with how it is right now ....

My 2021 Rebel just started doing this, this weekend. I tried 3 different stations and all the handle calisthenics one can imaging. Upon pulling the nozzle out a little, I fueled my feet! I've read the filler tube has a check valve that prevents spilling while inverted? Apparently it's stuck...

NJ passed the Retail Gasoline Dispensing Act in 1949. Still in effect today and essentially prohibits self-fueling. Numerous studies have shown that there is no disparity in pricing as result of the act. In addition, NJ has some of the highest liability insurance expenses in the country-the act mitigates some of that impact by keeping the public away from the fuel nozzles.
I fill at a Shell Station that has one price, cash or credit. Every other station around is $0.10-12 more for credit. Frankly, I love it. I don't have to smell that putrid E10 and when it's 10 degrees outside, I stay in my truck. Win-win.

when i still had a gas powered Ram & had to gas up in New Jersey, this homeless looking guy walked up to me & basically got in my face.
I figured this guy was either going to rob me or beg for smokes or money.
He grabbed my fuel door & stopped when he saw the locking gas cap.
It was one of those stations where you walk up to a window & hand them cash or a CC.
I told them that no one was going to put gas in my truck, they basically told me that if i wanted gas, i had to follow NJ rules, or they would signal the law officer that was parked across the street.

If you ever notice those "attendants" will try to top off your tank, i guess they think they are doing you a favor
