I guess I'm the "low" percentage that has not had a problem. I wonder if there is a cutoff date of where they started using a different glue?
And to add my father has not had an issue either but his truck is a later build than mine.

I have a 2018 Ram 3500 DRW with 27k on it. The screen started to delaminate about a year and half ago. I had to finally replace it because it started to have fandom button inputs. It was so bad that I could no longer feel safe driving the truck. I’ve replaced the screen and everything is working as it should.

I have a 2018 LTD, & my screen is checking [spider webbing]. My truck was a late build, the 2019's were just arriving, it sat on the lot for another year, so when I bought it, it was technically 2 years old, so I am still under the original bumper to bumper warranty. I took it to the dealer with the complaint last week along with the chrome letters on the tailgate bubbling. The service manager told me the radio will be replaced under warranty, along with the letters. i ordered a "well reviewed" screen protector from BroTech in Germany, but the service manager thinks that the replacement radio may have an upgraded screen ? This I don't know ! He says that the radio etc., could take 2 weeks to 2 months to arrive !
Any new radio you get now or screen will be the updated adhesive. Basically they replace it with a 2019+ screen/radio. I was told months to unknown arrival. Uconnect said the supply chain has bascially caught up and I had mine within 4 weeks of the order and installed.

I have a 2015 ECO diesel Laramie which at the time was a top-of-the-line truck, which wasn't cheap. I had problems with my "premium" sound system and took it to the dealer I purchased it from in Mineola Texas. The first visit they kept it for a little over a month to repair a nav problem, they replaced the radio, and everything worked fine for several months. That's when literal hell broke loose, won't belabor with the details but decided to take it to another dealership in Tyler Texas with the same results only this time they said that FCA would no honor the extended warranty since I had installed an un-approved modification, a set of AMP folding steps. I have since replaced the radio myself and have had no trouble with my system. I guess the guy who said that this is just someone ....... about something you can find plenty of references to online may have retired from Ram cares. There is a class action lawsuit working its way through federal court concerning the reliability of the Uconnect system back up camera, but like many other class actions we probably won't see anything from it. The next time I am in the market for a vehicle it sure won't be an FCA or whatever they call themselves now.

I had a better experience with the delaminated screen on my 2018 BigHorn. I did contact Ram Cares and they insisted I get a diagnostic from a dealer before they would get involved. I actually used a Chrysler/Jeep dealer with a good reputation. The dealer told me they see delaminated screens in 2018’s all the time and even though my vehicle was out of warranty they replace them with refurbished radios for a $100 deductible. I never went back through Ram Cares and within 3 weeks the dealer replaced my radio. It was indeed a refurbished radio because my XM radio subscription showed a 2016 Grand Cherokee not a 2018 Ram. The radio is in excellent condition and does have the updated screen. I think a lot depends on the dealer. I was expecting a fight as my truck was out of warranty and purchased in a different state. It also has a security bypass harness installed, aftermarket speakers and a Kicker Key amp yet the dealer never said a word about it.

My 2018 limited has delaminated across the top. Trying to sell it currently. This and gas prices are not helping.

I am just curious how many people have had issues with the screen delaminating on there touch screen radios. Ram Cares doesn't seem to care and I am looking to see how big of a problem this is. If there are enough issues I may contact legal representation to see if this qualifies for a Class Action suite.
I have a 2018 PW (close to you). I have not had any issues with the screen delaminating, but I am on my 3rd radio/Nav since I bought the truck new. I am glad I bought the MAXcare warranty! My bride has a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee, she is on her second radio/Nav. Now I have the screen delaminating to look forward to!!

Search the 4th gen electronics thread, quite an extensive discussion on this topic there.

I have reached out to law firm that specializes in these types of cases. They are reviewing the case and will contact me once they have completed their research.

Well when you start throwing out words like lawyer and class action lawsuit most corporations/ businesses won't communicate and won't proceed with you personally.
It's a part of the playbook and is usually the advice of their attorney(s)!

Attitude goes along way. I would not go out of my way to help customers who have an attitude..

Entitlement?

Why get a lawyer??? What’s the point, it failed and apparently is out of warranty…. People ask for assistance from the manufacturer but want to have an attitude… Then complain about the assistance they get…

I mentioned my radio having issues not even a year after I got it, I ended up putting a screen saver because they said it was just the screen being worn from so much finger pressing ...

Took it it to have it diagnosed 2 times after it was having ghosting issues, they still said there was nothing wrong with it ... now 4 years later they finally decide to take a look at it but it's out of warranty lol ...

They will always try and get away from honoring a warranty issue, they don't make money off of warranty work. If they would of replaced my radio even a year ago I wouldn't have to be going through the bs I am going through right now ..

I have an appointment for them to finally "diagnose" my radio on Wednesday, but the service manager already sounded like he wasn't going to try and help me ... he said "I have never heard or seen a delaminated radio, so honestly I don't know what we would be looking for" ... are you serious? lol ..

So I am already preparing myself to hear them say I have to pay out of pocket ... if they do say that I am going to be going to try this fix where you completely remove the LOCA glue they used in between the digitizer and the actual radio screen .. if that doesn't work I will get an aftermarket radio ...

426power,

We do apologize if we didn't get to you on this. You have stated in your previous comment that you've already reached out to the dealer, and Ram Cares on this. We try to reach out to everyone that has not been helped. Unfortunately, we're not able to assist everyone out due to some circumstances. Please reach out to us directly in a PM if you wish to discuss this matter further. Thank you!

This was done after they refused to address the issue. Obviously a common issue and they pick and chose who they want to help. Thank you for your concern, but I gave them a chance and nothing!

My appointment for them to "diagnose" my screen is tomorrow at 7am lol ... I don't think it's going to end well but I am giving them the benefit of the doubt ... I just got a call from my case manager to "check on" and "follow up" and to "make sure" that your appointment for tomorrow is still in place lol ...

I will update you guys on what they say ...

But yes, they do choose who they want to help out, looks to me like they base it on your behavior on these forums lol .... So be good boys you hear me!!! lol
