G'day all,
Fairly new to the site and I've tried to find the info searching on here but haven't been able to locate it.
By chance does anyone know the part number for the connector and terminals for the under hood light for the 4th gen Rams? I'd like to plug into the factory connection at the firewall and I'd like to use a "factory" connector rather than cut the plug off.

Thanks

Eaiest cheapest method would be hitting the pull it yourself junkyards adn getting one of a Cherokee or truck or such. pretty much all teh same. Might want to get yourself the front footwell lights while you are at.

Method I used, when I owned a 4th Gen was:

MOPAR OEM Part # CEC1MO71AA Under Hood Light Kit

Recall kit for 2011-2013 Sport trucks that did NOT come with the under hood & glove box lights, but should have.
Call around to local dealers parts depts and ask for that part number.
Many got it sent to them, never did anything wit it and it is still laying around on their shelves.

Otherwis,e you must purhcase the light assembly and the wiring harness, seperately and here are those part numbers:

Genuine Chrysler (56021441) Underhood Lamp

Jumper Wiring - Mopar (68090861AA)

or you can get them both, cheaper, from teh great Amazonian Gpd

2012-2016 Dodge Ram Under Hood Light Lamp & Harness Kit OEM Mopar

Once you get teh parts, replace the normal light bulb with a LED for much improved visibility.

Watch the video Bird posted or here are pics and explanations on how I did it, on my 2014, a few years ago.

this is the recall kit i bought and used. Think it was $20.

The kit includes the under hood light assembly, with bulb. One push pin, to mount the light to the hood itself, 2 replacement retaining clips, for the under hood mat, the wiring harness AND one glove box light assembly.

Just pop off the two clover leaf looking clips holding the under hood mat to the bottom of the hood. ( I got by with just popping of the one but the kit comes with two new clips).

Slide the mat from underneath the retaining thingy.

Remove the bulb from the light assembly. Mount the light assembly, with the included push pin.
When mounting the light, have the "plug in" End of the light assembly pointing up.

You can't mess it up, there is a hole and a slot, on the hood, that matches up with the back of the light itself.

Plug in the wire harness. It has two ends but only one end of it will fit the light assembly itself. It's Gofishn Proof.
Wrap from top, down the side of the mounted light assembly. You will notice clips, on the wiring harness.
Those clips match up perfectly with holes in the hood. Just follow them along to the hood support.

Took me about 5 minutes to do it.

Getting the bulb out of the light, so I could mount the assembly to the hood,
took me longer than anything. Was worried I would break it.

Remove the Blank Filler plug, from the electrical connector you will need.
Plug in your new light.

I was not really that impressed with the amount of light the OEM bulb gave me.
Even at night, it was Weak, Whimpy, Whambly, Whombly. So I replaced it with this LED.

I added an underhood light to mine awhile back and put an led bulb in. I'd like to do something different, hence trying to locate the harness side plug and terminals. I may have to start scrounging the scrap yards to see if I can find another harness
