Hello, My 1500 2014 5.7 Sport have some torque converter issues, i get shudder at low speeds when accelerating slowly but if i push the truck some it drives fine. So now im looking to replace it but i have some trouble finding a replacement.

When it comes to buying a used TC, does it matter what car/truck it comes from? Like what engine / gear ratio etc or as long as its the same transmission 8HP70 it will fit and work? Because the cheapest i found close to me is from Chrysler 300 3.6L but i have no clue if it will work with my truck.

I don't know that I've heard of this issue with an 8HP70.

I wouldn't wing a TC at it unless diagnostics pinpointed this is for sure the issue and the only issue.

The 3.6L uses the 8HP45. The bellhousings are different between the 70 and 45 and how the TC mounts to the flexplate may be different.

I have this same issue with same truck. Also slips or revs a couple hundred RPM at any speed, but more noticeable in the 35 mph - 55 mph range. Did you get yours fixed? What was issue? Anyone else experiencing this??

I have the same issue as well! A warranty company just replaced the transmission with a used one. A month later, the same issue returned. I'm thinking TC as well. Thoughts?

I hope TC is what it is.. the stealership apparently ‘can’t’ tell me what it is for sure, but I’m having same issue. Good luck finding a TC though. If you do plz let me know where/how.. I’ll do the same. Apparently there is a national shortage. Surprise surprise. Also, anyone know why these TC’s are $1k or more? Majority of other models are like $500.

2014 to 2016 SRT Jeeps and 2019+ Challenger 1320's have a factory high stall convertor in their 8 speeds.I know a few outfits are selling the 1320 convertor. I think you might have to buy the whole transmission to get a used convertor,as alot of wreckers aren't splitting up the transmission and convertors on the 8 speeds. The Challengers and Chargers use the same convertor,so you can widen your search a bit if you're looking at a used convertor

2014 sport 4x4 5.7 hemi, had some rpm jump of 2-300 so I decided to do a partial trans fluid change and get a new filter in there, seemed to help, was on a 600 mile trip and had a real hard downshift from 3 to 2 and that’s when she started to shudder when slowly accelerating between 30-60 mph, when getting on it it shifted fine, also rpm jumps were more prevelant after the downshift, no codes or lights on but knew something was wrong, transmission shop tore into it and found damage to the TC that sent metal through the trans, full rebuild and new TC getting installed this week, hope it solves all probs
