Hello. I have a RAM 1500 Big Horn with 34K miles that is soon going to surpass the 3 yr/36K warranty. Looking at Mopar-Chrysler Max Care to 125K. I am curious about others' experiences and best value. I am a vet if anyone offers discounts. Thanks.

Use the search function here because it's talked about a lot. The prices for the max care warranties seem to vary greatly depending on sources so shop around. I'm going to be doing this in a few months myself

I went direct to Chrysler Service Contracts for my MaxCare extended warranties on 3 different MOPAR vehicles.

I made sure the warranty was part of my service information at the dealer. That really helped to quickly process a claim.

I exercised the warranty on 2 of the 3 vehicles. Unfortunately, the third was totaled before it had 22K miles on it. The process was painless. The coverage and deductible terms are hard to beat.

Chrysler Service Contracts used to have a free interest payment plan and their pricing was very competitive.

Have been well served by MOPAR extended warranties, on two previous RAMs. Have extended MOPAR warranty on present RAM.

I used Ziegler for mine. Whateva U use, do before the Warranty runs out, either mileage/time and there are considerable price jumps once you are out of warranty, just FYI. ALSO remember, the start date of Warranty you purchase goes back to the date you took possession of your RAM, not the date of purchase of Warranty.

Try Granger Motors in Iowa. They are doing a $50 over their cost right now. Saves $100's off of even Zieglers prices.

Phone number
VIN
Approximate mileage on Ram 1500 now
Coverage desired (years and mileage)

The entire process will be handled seamlessly online by electronic signature and a secure electronic deposit.
Your contract will be in force within 2-3 business days of completion of the deposit and electronic signature.

Mopar's Vehicle Protection Contracts are valid nationwide and will update electronically
within their system showing your contract status, so you won't need a paper copy of the contract to bring with you,
should a repair be necessary. It will all show up on Chrysler's VIP Summary.

Think the dealers GSM is named Zach Westrum and his all over, on multiple forums, drumming up sales.

Definitely do Chrysler MAX care if U can, not third party, like Go Fish said, put into system and recognized nationally.

I checked that site when I was shopping around. They listed 1500 and 2500 together having a substantial savings.

Once you contact them with your vin they were more expensive than others. Still got the unlimited mileage Maxcare, just not from them.

Shop around!!

I went with the Added Care Plus at Granger. The MaxCare covered a lot of stuff my Bighorn doesn’t have, but seems to cover most everything. It was significantly less, as well.

I bought mine from Ziegler back in 2014 when Lifetime was an option and WOW, have I got money's worth. Transmission (blew twice but once would have been covered by the factory warranty), exhaust manifold bolts, thermostat, 8.4 Uconnect system and I just got my truck back after getting an entirely new engine!

Granted, my number of problems is outside of normal but if not for the warranty I'd have dropped this truck by now. The trick making it pay is you must keep the truck for a long time and don't do a bunch of mods that give them an avenue to get out of coverage. Also, having all the service done at the dealer helps so all the records are there. My truck has literally not been touched by anyone other than the dealer. Also, be sure to really read the manual and to all the recommended service and maintenance. Honestly, there's really not much but you have to do it. For example I paid the dealer $800 to swap my plugs at 100K miles and if not for that I'm sure they would have tried to deny my recent engine replacement.

After comparing Zeiger, Chrysler Factory Warranty, and Granger Motors, I ended up going with the 8-year 100K Max Care from Granger. That was for my truck in Maryland, so do your research and compare prices. When you price with Zeigler put in "payinfull" to get $360 off quote. Also, as mentioned by someone else, check coverage and prices for the Added Care to see if that works for you truck.

Have or had Max Care Lifetime Bumper to Bumper (Lifetime not offered anymore) $100 deduct on 4 MoPar. It has been great. Best buy is on line.
One van got totaled before we got much use out of it but was prorated refund. The replacement van at 14 yrs and 215,000 has more than paid for itself. The 09 Challenger with 84,000 might be a break even or a little better. Haven't had to use it on my 2018 Ram 2500 with 49,000, yet.

I jut looked Ziegler up. Does this sound correct as you recall? :

Eligible Vehicles

FCA US (Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Fiat and Ram Trucks) and competitive-make vehicles covered by an active 5/60 or longer Powertrain Warranty (including FIAT) are eligible within 36 months of the in-service date and 36,000 miles.

What I'm getting is you must be covered by a 60 month to be eligible for a 36 month coverage. <y assumption, and I've made a lot of incorrect assumptions, is that once the 60 month is exhausted, the new Ziegler 36 month takes over. Correct me if need be

Dunno, about that extra stuff. Suggest you go to Ziegler site and call them. I do know, if U do not buy by the 3/36K, U may either not be able to get warranty, but when I bought, IIRC, you could still beyond the date, just a lot more $$$. I quite literally went on line and bought on the last day of my 3 year time frame.

I thought all of the FCA products had the standard 3/36 and 5 year power train, but I may be wrong, I';s a BOIRD...
