There has to be a way to service, maybe a long thin wire? IMO that is horrible decision to do that to you guys, no pcv.

Hey there! :)

I'm Oliver, a long time lurker, first time poster.

I read this whole thread, well, for the most part - the more important bits, as it's darn long, after all.

I remember seeing that Exxon merged with Mobil and then Mobil 1 got ruined after the merger??? Is this true cause i use Mobil 1 in all my cars. Now I'm worried because I thought I was doing the right thing. Thank you guys!

With the way the api unified all oil formulas any synthetic would be similar to other synthetics in performance if it is indeed api certified such as m1. Where I see m1 have better performance would be in the 0 weights as they do chase desirable specs. For 5w30 or 5w20 I'm not sold m1 would be better then kirkland or havoline or other similar oils that you can buy cheaper. I personally would run m1 with confidence and no worry, they were ahead of the field in many things such as lspi protection and particulate filter stuff.

The real question is does m1 or any random api formula address the weakness of older engine such as the hemi. They have gone tto the thin side of every weight, took out additives and concentrated on mileage and resource conserving instead of protection. Furthermore trying to meet their goals and maintain protection on items such as timing chains gave them absolute fits. Delays upon delays, manu's completely ignoring new oil specs because they werent sold the new oils can protect their engines. Now because apparently everything complicated is great the have two specs for the latest spec for gas and like 5 for diesel, whereas all ones where all one spec. point being, they are micro managing formulas to have thin oils with as little additives as possible. If it were me, I'd run kirkland oil with lubegard biotech in most cases against m1, for the same cost you has added moly and esters.

I give you the Petroleum Hall of Fame found at the Petroleum museum. Now if you need a vaca spot this has to be way up there with hawaii and vegas? The dude that invented amsoil, yup he is there.

Texas where else?

Used to be able to smell a refinery miles away - but not anymore. EPA made them clean up their emissions. We have a big one on the south side of the Metro.
Roll down I-95 into Filthadephia and you'd think the big refinery you could see stunk so bad, but it was the Campbell Soup plant across the river in Camden. A real garden spot.

Mobil's Paulsboro, NJ refinery stunk like a banshee, but it was so old I think it was one that they closed a few years ago. Leading to our refined products shortages. There's no shortage of raw material, btw (crude oil).

A town near here sued a sriracha sauce maker because of the smell eventhough he filtered his through a carbon filter, I was seriously invested because he also makes my favorite pasta sauce that is close to the sriracha sauce. If you have chicken alfredo pasta or anything pasta that needs a kick, if you havent already try the sauce posted below.

This town is a source of pride from the cow smell, we even name it, sonoma aroma. I worry some day these freaks will actually kill beef production, I will hate that day if it comes.

I am basically down to two sauces these days, keeping it simple, redhots and this one. I use them nearly every meal, maybe not breakfast, only because I have a great dry rub for that.

The great news was irwindale and CA as they joined the suit lost some rulings and ended up dropping the case. Miracle in a bottle that stuff and in many ways, took down a state, lol. That sauce is quite a lot hotter then redhot by the way. Asians use that on everything the way whites use redhot, lol.

Prayers and Well wishes for jay leno, had a gas fire burn his face. So scary, this is one of my large worries as I use gas cans at least once a week to 3 times a week. We have a swimming pool, I always say I'd go jump in, but it is like 100 ft from where I work on our cars. Gas is so flammable it isnt even funny, even static electr can set it off. I even worry when I'm gassing my vehicles, can the metal nozzle hit the tube and spark a fire? Granted it has never happened to me in over 40 years of gassing vehicles, but doesnt stop me from thinking it can.

A bit off topic - propane is the most dangerous of all......extremely low octane rating (easier combusted than gasoline), with vapor pressure similar -40F/C.

Be careful members that use it for various things (bbq, heaters, etc.). We were very nervous at work using it in spark engines - esp. finding the knock point for spark advance timing. Blew a hole in a Cummins gasified C series engine.

Also being heavy it pools in low spots, floor drains, etc. I went for service training for LP stuff for Homelite and Onan. Always very wary working with it.

Onan?! I worked at Onan! Engineering.

Yeah - propane is about the same density as air, mixes well, making a helluva fuel / air bomb.
