Any way to change OEM TPMS alarm psi settings?

I'm getting new tires on my 2020 Rebel this week. I've done the chalk test on many of my prior aftermarket tires (all in the 34-35" range), and they all generally show even wear in the 35-40psi range. My truck has its TPMS sensors set at 55psi for the front and 45psi for the rears, so if I fill my new tires at 35-40, they will constantly have the low pressure light on.

Do any of you know if any kind of aftermarket tuner or device can change the low pressure psi setting, or if a dealer can do it?

Thanks!

ALFAOBD ... check out the thread on it
Spot on. Dealer can't, I checked with three. I put up with the low tire light on my 2500, set for 60 front and 65 back, I run at 50 PSI all around, because I won't buy Alpha and the security cable just to change the TPMs limits.

Yeah... when I asked the dealerships around here if they would they said no because of liability reasons ... they "can" but they wont because of that ...

I hear that. It's a bit pricey to do just one change.

Maybe someone near you can help out? AlfaOBD does not marry to your VIN so it can be used on as many trucks as someone wants to plug into.

Thanks guys. I did some poking around in other threads, and one mentioned the need for a 4 digit PIN to use some of these computers that interface with the truck. Do you guys know whether you need some PIN to use this Alfa OBD? If so, where the heck do you get the pin # from?

You don't need the PIN for AlfaOBD.

That PIN is for the RF hub which is where the fobiksafe runs through (programming keys and such).

I'm not sure if the TPMS settings are in the BCM (Body Control Module) or not but I'm pretty sure that you don't need to access the RF hub to do it.

Most of us poke around the BCM for settings changes. There are some other modules you can access but for most of those you need to be rockin' an OBDLink MX+ to be able to access those modules.

I may not have gotten all that right. @Jimmy07 is the guy that knows the ins and outs.

yes if yours has a pin# you will have to have the pin to reset RF hub it has to be reset after TPMS pressure settings has been changed if you do not reset RF hub changes will not work. I used Chrysler pin puller app to get my pin

ALFAOBD can now get that pin you need ... you have to input the pin using ALFAOBD for the RF hub to take the changes ...

Since you have a 5th Gen DT ram, you DO NOT need a PIN, and you DO NOT need to reset the RF Hub after the changing the tire pressure thresholds in the BCM.

Nice !! But he still needs a security bypass harness ?
Yes, still need to bypass the security gateway.
thats good to know did not know they updated that its been over a year since I used it LOL
It’s not that there was an update to AlfaOBD, it’s just that the 5th Gen RF Hubs are different and don’t require a reset for the tire pressure change. Can’t use AlfaOBD to program a fob for the 5th gens, either.

Great, thanks. Just so I have this clear, purchasing the AlfaOBD device is all I need to reprogram my TPMS settings? How does the software interface from your computer to your truck? Is there a wire you connect to the OBD port, or do you just use something like the OBD Link MX?

Now that you mention this, I'm wondering how you do program a fob on a 5th gen. On all my past trucks I always order two extra keys and program them, and use the extras and keep the originals safe. Haven't done that yet on my Gen 5 but would like to.

One more time, you need ALPHOBD PLUS the security cord to make it work. There are lots of sponsors on this site that will sell you the correct setup as a package. Best of luck.

Just downloaded AlphaOBD and ordered the OBD Link EX corded port to connect it, so I'll give this TPMS change a try.... but I was also wondering if this software is able to adjust your speedometer for larger tires as well, or is that something that can only be done with the pricey tuner modules? Thanks
