Hi, I have a 2021 Ram Classic and I'm going to get rid of the Goodyear Wrangler tires before winter. Rather than going with a snow tire, I was thinking about going to an all-weather tire....not am all-seasom tire, but an all-weather tire. It's generally a softer compound than an-season, giving it better performance on snow and ice. Anyone know of a good all weather tire for the Ram Classic?

It would be helpful to know a few more things:

1) Are you lookng for a P-metric tire, or LT rated tire?
2) Is towing capacity an issue?
3) Have a budget in mind?
4) Are you sticking to stock size?
5) Do you have a particular budget in mind?
6) Blackwall or white lettering preference?
7) How many miles a yr do you drive?
8) Is there a particular snow driving you NEED? (like looong driveway, snow-packed country roads, etc)

There are so many tires, tread styles, etc. One person will say, "I put these tires on my truck, they're the BEST." and the next person will say,"Those were the worst tires Ever!" :). I've bought a lot of different tires, there's a lot of good product out there. Consider other's suggestions, do your own research ...watch some videos (lot of good youtube snow traction videos).

I myself put a set of P-metric Cooper AT's on my Ram (Reg Cab) because I wanted a nice smooth, quiet ride. I stayed with stock size ...per the door tire sticker. They're a good, quiet, all-weather tire. Ride nice. Affordable. Happy with them.

On another DD SUV I recently purchased a set of Hankook Dynapro AT2's. Went with those bc they have a good all-weather tread, OWL sidewall, Rim Protecting bead (on 285's), tread blocks which go all the way to the carcass. I wanted them to be good in snow. For gnawing through deep-ish snow, like I need to do sometimes, it's helpful to have a tire with individual tread-blocks. The ones I installed are LT's but I think they have P-metrics in certain sizes. So far I'm happy with them.

The Coopers seem to be a 'softer' compound and the Dynapro's more of a 'standard' compound. I selected the Dynapro's for my DD because I wanted a good balance between decent snow performance and highway longevity.

There's a lot of different kinds of snow driving. If you really want good snow driving, you might want a set of dedicated winter/snow tires.

I put a set of Wild Country 4SX tires on my snow plow Jeep. They have a little wider gap between the tread blocks that hold snow for good snow traction and quite a few sipes going different directions. Compound seems fairly typical, definitely not hard IDK if they meet and All-weather spec. But they definitely churn through deeper snow and do well on snow packed roads. Not loud, inexpensive, P-metric, seem to handle fine dry too. They're no-namers, but the TBC HQ is in FL ..and parent co 50% owned by Michelin. The company makes a lot of off-label tires sold to smaller dealers. But the tires themselves look great, quality *seems* good, and run out real well (OWL too). They're probably a 40k mile tire, I'm guessing, we'll see :). Something to consider (check Walmart.com).

I had a set of Goodyear Wrangler AT's (below), and with the style of treadblocks, they were EXCELLENT in their ability to go through deep snow, and packed snow roads (and good all year round). I really loved them. I would have bought another set but they weren't avail in the size I needed. So I ended up going with the Wild Country 4SX's ...after evaluating a lot of tire treads (for snow). For your 2021, I'd recommend a set of these ...even though you said you didn't want Goodyears ..there's a differene between the ones your truck came with an off-the-shelf Goodyear tires.

I just moved to a snowy area and have Falken Wildpeak AT3Ws on, hoping to have a positive review after this winter.

What part of the country are you Op?
I'm in southwest Ontario. The temperature doesn't drop too low. In fact we hover around -2 and +2 Celsius between now and the end of December. Because of the humidity and the near zero Temps, we get a lot of slush and slippery slush due to light frozen layers.

Probably best to go to Discount Tire (or your equivalent) and ask them ..they can show you various tread designs, pull the tires you want (if they have in stock) so you can inspect the tread. Look carefully at the tread blocks and sipes. Avoid tires which the tread blocks DON'T go all the way to the carcass. Many tires have tread blocks with rubber connecting between the blocks. And when they get to be worn to, say, 50%, they aren't very effective (esp in snow) and may seem quite 'worn'. If you pay $1100 or whatever for a set of tires and they 'appear' worn out after a couple years, they'll be terrible in snow and you won't get your full mileage value out of them (vs tires which tread blocks DO go all the way to the carcass like those Goodyear Wranglers I posted above).

...if any of that matters to you.

2016 Ram 1500 4WD Big Horn crew cab, 20” rims. Continental Sure Contacts a great all weather tire in up to 14” of snow. Terrific wet and very quiet dry. Looks like I’ll be getting about 75 k miles wear. My son with a similar sized Silverado has Cooper A/T with a much more aggressive tread. I suspect they’d be better yet, but tradeoff is increased road noise and probably not as long tread life.

I'm in eastern Ontario and I put Cooper all weather tires on my 2013 and 2017 Ram's ... Canadian Tire sells them .. Never had any problems with them and they were good in the snow ... I haven't gotten around putting them on my 2020 Longhorn yet because they are 22" and so far haven't found a compatible all weather tire in that size ...

I'm very fond of my firestone destination xts. I run them on a 17" rebel rim.

I had COOPER AT3 4S tires put on a couple months ago.
Good reviews and are good on dry and wet roads !
Not really any noise !
I did not use their LT tire as I do not off road or tow

here is dfw we've only gotten snow like twice in the last couple of years. i've got the bfg k02s and love them. they did just fine in the snow we got, i know they have the 3 mountain peaks on the sidewall which is supposed to be good for snow regions also.
