Has anyone ever experienced such horrible has millage? I have a 3” lift on 35’s. I do not expect excellent gas millage but this is out of control. City i get 11mpg. Pulling anything relatively light i get 8mpg on highway. At this point i dont know what to do. Dealer just ignores the fact that this is non sense. I have to gas every 300miles pulling nothing. Pulling the small dump trailer , that i pull daily.. i can get 186miles. Im lost of words / options. Anyone have suggestions or heard of this before?

What axle ratio is the truck? If it's 3.21 it's not surprising your city fuel economy is in the crapper, the tire size was increased by over 8.5%. Even with 3.92 it's still not the greatest.
Pulling a trailer behind a gasser usually drops the fuel economy to near single digits so 8 is not surprising.
If you want to run 35"s, might want to look into regearing but the front differential may have you limited to 3.92. with the Gen4 trucks it was possible to go with 4.10 but haven't read about anyone going that low yet.

No offense dude but the time to worry about mileage is before you buy, then you can buy the correct set up. Read this, ram the best in mileage, and it even tells you what to avoid.

The RAM 1500 is our best diesel truck in mpg alone, though it also fuses a luxurious interior, excellent ride quality and surprising fuel economy to create a highly rated full-size pickup truck. The turbo diesel engine option is the top choice if you want the best fuel economy. If gas prices have you worried, avoid the V8 version with its 10 city/14 highway fuel consumption.

You probably want at or mt with that lift, if you went to michelin defenders you would probably increase that by 2 mpg's, or any less aggressive tire and run top psi. But it wont look as nice, so what is more important looks or 2 mpg. We went aggressive on our SUV, we lost 2 mpg. We had an idea that would happen, but did it anyway for security reasons, the wife now travels to forest by the bay, so the roads are wet, We knowingly opted for less mileage. Most guys know if you opt for a lifted 4x4 with big tires it wont beat a prius at the pump.

However, there are issues with all of those trucks getting the high mileage, first is upfront costs. But that pails in comparison to everything else, you want a hybrid truck for 20% more mileage, I sure don't. Battery pack will likely exceed value of truck. The list of things wrong with the eco diesel is so long they are discontinued nest year. So if it makes you feel any better, this choice for a truck despite the mileage is still a real good decision for the long run compared to the endless issues with other options. Lease a civic if you can if the cost difference goes over 300 a month. I must say I do prefer the 29mpg's we get in the rav 4, we take it everywhere when we go on vaca unless we go to snow country.
