Well, got the overhead console in. Of course when I was connecting to one of the wires on the back passenger seat pillar I dropped a screw so ended up having to take the rear seat out to take off all the trim to get the screw out so a note to everybody doing this put some tape rolled up in the bottom of the hole where the screw is up at the top of the trim on both seat pillars otherwise it'll drop down in. Also suggest using a magnetized screwdriver for it. Also, on my 2018 2500 tradesman, there was a big old green connector right in the middle of the opening where the console is so I had to trim out the tabs where other items I guess go. I only have the lights so was not a problem

Thanks to everybody for the assistance here, and especially to m2 mods who built the harness for me and also provided some help when a wire wasn't where it should have been.

If you are installing the overhead console in a 2018 or I'm assuming the 19 and 20 classics you might find some differences as I did then from what is listed in this thread. If you go to the vendor section to M2Mods, I have posted some additional information and pictures of what I found. I was able to get a harness from the vendor that made the installation go very quickly, at least the wiring part.

You're welcome john!

FYI, in 2017+ to make room for the mic wiring in the headliner, 1/2 of the lighting/ console wiring moved from that green connector behind the driver side air vent, to the driver side C pillar and passenger side C pillar. It's certainly more complicated now.

See 2017+ Mic/compass module wiring thread
.

Hey guys I’ve installed an overhead console about a year ago and I never managed to grab the harness which contained the wiring for the light that illuminates the console area. I’ve referenced which light I’m referring to in this photograph. Does anyone know where I can snag power for this light? I just finally found a solid connector and part of a wiring loom at the junkyard the other day. Thanks e1607e4379292a92d3dd0a722863bf77.jpg

Does anyone have info on how to find the connector to the homelink module. I have a 2015 tradesman2500 6.4 with no overhead console. (I m adding all at same time). I have console, retainer, homelink, and wiring harness to console lights. Me reading the forums have me understanding that the connections are in the headliner wiring. I have been searching for that on eBay and salvage yards with no luck. I have read that all it needs is power and ground but the pieces are internal so I can’t fab a harness without opening internal parts. Any suggestions or solutions are appreciated.

I out a OHC in my 2018 Tradesman, there was nothing up in headliner beyond the wires for my center some light, the mirror, and microphones. I had to run wires from a harness I bought from Vendor M²Mods to various points in the left and right rear pillars of my CC. You could try Benny from allmoparparts l, another vendor to see if you can buy the connector. Good luck.

Not sure where the wires are coming from, do you mean up the A-pillar? Could be your microphone in the headliner.

I apologize for the necro but just to help anyone else who is doing this. I ran into some pins for my other projects and also the bags sent from Rick on here. I found by measuring out the pins are a dead match and even fit into the connectors.

Pins from molex mx150 are the same thing.

I suspect they have always been a molex contact since most of ram and Chrysler connectors are molex.

Female contact

330012004 (Molex)

0330001002 / WM4685CT-ND (DigiKey)

(just for reference you’ll need to order to your wire size)

Male contact / pin

330013006 (Molex)

0330122002 / WM3687CT-ND (DigiKey)

again also for reference order to your wide size you want to use)

These pins slide into and latch in my connectors on my truck and the oem ones for my truck slide into the mx150 connectors.

They're Yesc/Kaizen connectors by Yazaki and the pins are either 7116-4100-02(20/22 AWG) or 7116-4101-02 (18 AWG).
Just can't find any that aren't required bulk order. Otherwise I guess I could go and buy the repair kit p/n 68057297AA, which comes with the connector 16 wires pinned crimp splices and heat shrink. But that's between $60 and $70.

I was really just wanting to have everything hooked up factory like.

So i have a 2017 Ram 1500 Special Service Vehicle and it didn't come with an overhead console light. I simply am trying to get lights to turn on when I open the door.
I pull the cover off on the driver's side and have been looking at the wires and not finding the yellow with light blue. Am I missing something, Looking for some assistance? What are the colors of the wires I need to be looking for on the A-Pillar or behind the headlight switch?

Did you obtain your harness from M²Mods? If so, he will work with you to get this working. If you didn't, then contact the seller, they should be able to help you. Good luck.

I now see he responded, hope he recovers soon and fully.

Not sure when that was, but he has his vendor work as well as his regular job and family life. He will respond, may just take some time.

Hello everyone,

This one is a weird one. I added the overhead console without the garage for opener a few years ago. A couple weeks ago I added the garage door opener using the wiring diagram on post 65. The problem is that now the opener fluctuates pulling power from the battery. The voltage draw goes up to 1.9 then drops to .2 and goes back up. This kills my battery after a couple days of sitting. Otherwise the for opener works perfectly. This is for a 2012. I do have the correct year opener. Any guidance would be appreciated.

Best guess is that you have a loose wire somewhere. You need to check every connection and solder joint. Other ideas is your switch is faulty and it is possible that is where your wire problem is.

I did redo the wiring thinking the same thing. Checked to make sure I wasn't getting any ohms between them. I may have to get another opener. Seems odd that that's the part that would fail.

If you have my luck, I always get wonky parts.
