On September 5, I got rear ended by a drunk driver, which caused me to roll into a car in front of me. He was arrested on the spot. After 2 months of Physio, and waiting for parts, I finally feel normal, and also got my truck my back. The insurance paid for all, rental, physio, no deductible. It came back better than before with lifetime warranty. They had to replace the rear bumper with many different components, the left and right panels on the box, the entire exhaust system as it was all pushed in, the trailer hitch, all the hangers for the exhaust, and wiring and harnesses. The front lower bumper was also replaced. It sounds amazing and more throaty than before but not loud. It drives like brand new as I always had it in pristine condition. It feels great to have my truck back, I was driving a 2021 Kia Seol rental, so I had to relearn how to drive a big truck again. The final bill came to $15,200.
How much of the resale value would this effect compared to a a truck that wasn’t in an accident?

I was with my wife at the time, diagnosed with a grade 2 concussion, as well as grade 3 whiplash. We both are way better, we have retained legal counsel and have sued that idiot.
Good to hear.
I hope you guys sue him good for doing that ****. Was this during the day?

For a non-collectible vehicle the one collision entry from Carfax won't hurt too much if you choose to sell or trade in later. As a guesstimate maybe 10% less? If it had been totaled that would be a different story.

Glad you were alright.

Google has a lot of different stories ranging from $500-$2000 less to 10% (as Kenobi mentioned) all the way up to 25%.

KBB doesn't ask you if it's been in an accident if you are just looking for general value so, if you are truly curious about resale value, you would have to put in a buy bid with some car sites to get a feel for what your truck is worth right now. You would have to suffer some texts, e-mails, and phone calls if you did that so measure your determination to see if it is worth a couple of weeks of communications to find out.

Not a dang thing, except fed the Beast with a lil motion lotion, lol.

OH, I did do my PMCS, checking all fluids, PSI tires, look under vehicle, look in engine bay, stuff like that.

Love the color, see the nose piece matches the flares ref "bolts", not know about that look. I wanted that color for my ride, but was not available when I bought as they were just being put on lots. I tried to trade up, but the only Hydro's here are 2500, or 1500 with Quad lighting, and I neva will go back to halogen lighting again. But your truck looks sharp OP.

Yeah thats one of the next things Im going to do...been looking around for projector lights and Ive found a few so they are definitely on the to-do list. Think next on the block will be leather seats, but not sure yet...got a quote for some cat skins (katskinz) and its a bit of a toss up between them and some larmamie seats from ebay. Gonna put a shell on the back end, new rims that poke out a tad bit from the well, and air ride the suspension. Then after all that, engine stuff. Got a 2" leveling kit installed too but might just do a suspension upgrade soon instead.

Lots and Lots of mods. Air Suspensions made for RAM (OEM setup installed on truck when bought), not always do well in cold parts.

Check with the dealership, they are an authorized Katzkin dealer. You can get about any combination through them (including emblems/logos in the seatback). I looked into a mild option (2 colors) and my dealership quoted me just over $1300 installed for the whole cab. It was a little over a year ago when I got that quote so I'm sure it's a bit more now but that's still cheaper than 2 used front seats from a wrecked Laramie.

Got my windshield replaced…..picked up a ding on a recent long road trip. Spread into a web crack top center just behind the rear view mirror, then stopped . Couldn’t see it from inside the cab. Went to SAFElite after we got home for their opinion. Naturally, they said it had to be replaced. State law here requires insurance to cover the replacement of windshields, so filed a claim . Got OEM glass. All good to go …….

I am looking at something similar (grey/lapis instead of blue). I originally had my heart set on Laramie front seats (plug and play for my Level 2 and adds a power passenger seat for my wife) but they are really expensive around me. Plus that still leaves cloth rear seats (my OCD won't allow that) so a whole Laramie crew cab of seats would cost me my kid's college fund...and they'd be used. Not worht it IMO for a power passenger seat and (maybe) ventilated.

Every time I get ready to dump my cloth for leather something comes up (dead washer, new fridge, plumbing leak, etc.) so it gets pushed. One of these days I'll actually pull the trigger and treat my butt.

I haven't looked yet so just casually asking - is there not a powered cloth seat available to add to our trucks?
