Not sure what to say, are you asking because of weight or brand? Not sure either are recommended for most Rams, but I could be unaware of an engine that takes these.

I will and do use Castrol Edge. I would never run oil 20k miles though. I do too many short trips to risk it for me.

is your hemi nice and smooth with castrol ? are you running the gold or black ?
I'm running the black bottles it in my wife's 2013 Ford Edge with the 3.5 engine. It takes a while for it to start changing colors. Engine sounds good and it gets good fuel mileage.

I haven't put enough miles on the 2018 Ram yet to change the oil. It was fresh changed when I bought it. I've not put 3k on it yet.

I will probably use Edge High Mileage in it, even though when I looked today it only had 27,245 miles total on it.

I have the 3.6 engine.

Just wondering why you’re limiting your choices to those two brands? Not that there’s anything wrong with either brand, but there are other brands as well.

In my 2022 it actually mentions Penzoil , the probably make Mopar 0-20 full synthetic. That's what I will go with .

I think the 2022 hemi 5.7 calling 0w20 , think thy switch from 5w20 to 0w20.. I might be wrong.....
Yes, that's correct. They switched from 5w20 to 0w20 for 2022 models with the Hemi engine.

Try both, if the engine runs smooth and quite with both, let price be your guide. Some might say to to run an oil analysis and pick the one with the best results. My opinion is, either one will be fine.

I have been a Mobil 1 fan for decades so that would be my choice between the two (if those are my only choice options). I use Mobil 1 in my wife's Ranger and my last truck (F-250 diesel). IMO you can't go wrong with Mobil 1 oil.

I've got nothing against Castrol (I used it in my "early" years) but stick to euro vehicles for that (I use Castrol in my kid's MINI Cooper).

I've never used Pennzoil before this truck but it is what RAM recommends so I switched for this truck. I use Pennzoil Ultra Platinum and am very happy with it in my HEMI.

PUP is rebranded and sold to Mopar on the 5W20 and 5W30 dealer oils. Not know yet on the 0W 20 listed for the 22's, as I have a MY 19 and run 5W20, though with the higher temps in summer gonna go to 5W30 for summer and 5W20 for winter.

Wonder why they went to 0 weight instead of 5 weight. Did they need just a lil more cold protection? Burla need to chime in there on the difference between 0 W20 and 5W 20.

Here's a pic from my owners manual. It changed for the V-6 as well.
